I did this remix in 2003 and for whatever reason it never got released.  I have been a fan of Rufus ever since.  This song is incredible with some amazing lyrics, nobody writes quite like Rufus.  I was bummed when it did not come out because I had put so much into the remix.  I recorded live strings and bass guitar for the mix and felt that it really switched it up nicely.  Later on, on my album "the calm" I stripped off the vocal from this song and changed the arrangement and released it as an instrumental called "remembering rufus".  But it is way more powerful with the vocal and I am happy to share it with you today.
