Dear Madam was formed in mid 2013 by guitarist and vocalist Mindaugas Bitė, bassist Augustinas Bėkšta and drummer Kristupas Jarmulka. During their first year of rocking the band have been composing and recording material for their debut album.
It's no secret that members of Dear Madam are not new to the stage and have experience playing in other bands. Augustinas and Mindaugas have played in the Lithuanian death/doom act Life's Edge and other projects (WOZU, Double Vision, Juodvarnis), while Kristupas made his mark in the lighter side of rock (Zip, Dinamikai) playing bass and drums.
At the end of summer 2013 there had already been some time since Mindaugas parted ways with Life's Edge and started composing new songs that would eventually become Dear Madam. Rehearsals began when Kristupas took on the drums, but there was still a bass player missing, so after long time no see Augustinas was called and decided to broaden his musical talents by taking on the bass guitar whilst being a drummer in other bands.
After accepting the name 'Dear Madam,' the guys knew that the band is complete and the only thing left to do is record an album and play as many gigs as possible.
"Personally, thinking up a name for a band is maybe the hardest part in the whole process of being in one. This one ('Dear Madam,') just popped into Mindaugas' head while on a break in a rehearsal. We didn't accept it for some time, but eventually it just kinda grew on us." -Augustinas
All three musicians are influenced by different things and have different musical backgrounds. Mindaugas is a self-taught guitar player who played mostly in alternative rock/metal bands, Augustinas mostly played extreme metal, Kristupas played funky rock with his former bands.
"I'm influenced by mostly anything that I see or hear or feel in any kind of way. And, of course, rock 'n' roll!" -Mindaugas
Currently the band is recording their debut album and planning future gigs.
