Interspecies collaborative music created with SCOBY (Symbiotic Cultures Of Bacteria and Yeast) and a PlayTronica TouchMe MIDI controller for my Material Rituals master's thesis explorations. The sounds you hear are the result of directly touching the SCOBY as if they are pianos or violins. The size of the SCOBY and their water content, alongside the number of fingers, the amount of pressure, and the duration of time I use to touch the SCOBY, directly affect the frequency, amplitude, and duration of the notes that you hear.
