In this year of things falling apart, Drumcorps goes leaner & meaner, keeping a certain tenderness & melodic sparkle. There's only one way, and so we hear Aaron picking up scream duties for the first time, as well as the rest of the instruments. The transition from the old days of hyper-sampling is complete, and now the mashup forces are focused on deconstructing original work as soon as it's made. Build to destroy, to remake anew.

There's an ocean of harsh noise, electronic textures, sub-bass & jungle breaks, but all elements are concise & to the point, serving the song first. It's all woven carefully into the flow, built into the tunes as integral elements of a whole.

Thematically it's a willingness to engage with the darkest reality, but an outright refusal to yield to cynicism - essentially hardcore punk filtered through a diversity of experience and influence. A soundtrack for our remaining time in late-stage capitalism. For fans of hardcore, metal, d-beat, noise, and electronic soundsystem culture alike, there's common ground, and a way forward. Isn't what it's all about?

In the classical margam of bharatanatyam, the varnam is the recital’s centerpiece, its longest and most emotionally charged performance. In “Tome of Stars“, the varnam appears as the twenty-nine-poem section “Senescence”. Following the exaltation of Anthesis, the beloved as a celestial goddess, love now descends from the stars into the gravity of human frailty. 

This sonnet is a rationalist’s dissection of romantic love in the wake of disillusionment. Having once found meaning and transcendence in a profound relationship, the poet now turns that same experience over to the scalpel of scientific reductionism. The poem methodically strips love of its perceived metaphysical or emotional sanctity and recasts it as an epiphenomenon of genetics, biochemistry, cellular signaling, and evolutionary pressure. What once seemed divine and soulful is reframed as the deterministic outcome of biological algorithms that are unchosen, unconscious, and meaningless in themselves. The tone is one of cold resignation, where intellectual clarity substitutes for emotional closure. The language moves from the clinical to the cosmic, but offers no escape from the overarching nihilism.

In nature’s lab, our love was preordained—
An enzymed waltz of mating DNA,
With pheromones and nerves, precisely trained,
And MHC alleles to guide our way.

Each fancy, sliced by time’s selective blade,
Each quirk that made us smile—precisely planned.
We’re actors in a cosmic masquerade,
Parts played that we can’t pray to understand.

What then, this ardor, flamed with truth that shone,
When chemistry controlled each tender sigh?
Cold knowledge stings; we are but strings and bone,  
Long yanked by hands unseen that pull and ply.  

In this vast void, cold blinded laws hold sway—
Our passions merely atoms, dumb at play.
