Radiance

A setting of the Heart Sutra for mezzosoprano, gongs, guitar, contrabass and electronics.

The text is the Heart Sutra, the most important text in the Zen schools of Buddhism.

Avalokita's Song

The intention with this piece was to combine guitar and electronic music, having practised both separately before. The material is all sourced from the guitar the first half is un-amplified and based on chance operations with notes selected from the melody that follows. The second half is amplified and comes from one take of improvisation with high-gain / feedback.

A synth workout on the Prophet I bought off Hectic. This version is without beats and just tails off ... definitely a work in progress.

Recording of a village ceremony we were invited to by the people that ran Flowerbud residence in Balangan. There was a long break before the musicians and crowd returned for the climax of the ceremony. This was the first piece after the break and the penultimate overall.
