Death By Audio Shoegaze rose from the ashes of former alt.rock outfit The People Tree in 2017 and consisted of four
members. Dawid, Arthur, Richard and Marcel. They soon released their self-titled debut on CD that sounded like Smashing Pumpkins meets Ride but adding a smattering of grungy riffage.
As soon as the CD was released the guys found themselves swerving away from this sound, moving more and more towards shoegaze and fuzz driven noise pop.
Death By Audio sounds like a combination of the bands they say are their influences: Ride, The Cure, Slowdive, The Jesus and Marychain, Interpol, but adding a slice of post- rock/postpunk to the mix.
Their first single under the new “ fuzz-haze” was released in 2018 and is called “You’ll Catch Your Death Out Here”. It can be found on YouTube, Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music. Death By Audio recorded their EP “ Dreamintoxication” in 2019 with famous Den Haag underground producer Guy Tavares.
After recording the EP bass player Arthur decided to leave the band and was replaced by Rene den Toom who was a leading force in postpunk outfit Crowjane. This opened a whole new array of possibilities. Suddenly Death By Audio songs were more bass driven and contained more layers of sound than before, The proof is in the pudding as they say. Their newly recorded EP “Beautiful Parasite” shows the direction this band is headed for. Bustery, drowsy lovesongs packed with autumny dejection. Dark vocals combined with Rene’s brilliant bass lines, Marcel’s and Dawid’s haunting guitar sounds and Richard’s aggressively intelligent drumming.
Death By Audio recorded their second EP “Beautiful Parasite” in 2020 with famous musician and producer Mark Gardener (RIDE).

A show by Death By Audio is a spectacle of lights, sound and smoke. The band presents their haunting and intrusive music in a haunting and intrusive manner.
Vaguely visible shadows that play songs you will feel and vibrate to for days on end.

AMBITIONS
We want to contribute to the shoegaze scene!
At the end of 2020, DBA started with INKfISCH bookings (https://inkfishbooking.com/). With their new EP Beautiful Parasite they want to find a bigger audience and play shows all over Europe. They also want to play a number of festivals like Best Kept Secret and the Fuzz Festival in Nijmegen.
In the fall they plan to go into the studio to record their 3 EP.
