I sat at the keyboard, put on the most amazing sounding piano virtual instrument I own, and just let it flow. No post edits, no alterations in how it was played, just as raw as possible. This song comes from a place in me that I haven't explored ever. It comes from a place that when you reach a certain age, or have a health problem rear its ugly head, you stop, take the time to think about it, and then realize there are more years behind than ahead.

Sorry I haven't been here in a long time. I've been working on films and other things, as well as just living. Hope all is well with everyone who still bothers to stop by and say hello, and have a listen.

Consequences

This is a piece I wrote for a cat I used to have, on the day of his death.

Each part reminds me of how his life went, pretty much how all life goes.

The piano initially is the curiosity and wonder of discovering the world.

The violins are akin to what the tension feels like to watch the kitten grow, and learn, fail and try again...but kind of a warning to take it slow, kiddo.

The secondary piano is the kitten becoming the cat and growing into adulthood, and being risky.

The third piano part is its run headlong, blissfully unaware of how short it's life really is.

The cello line is the wish that these little fuzzballs could live a long life, as long as we do, so we could spend more time with each other.

This piece was originally written for a film trailer. It has since been replaced by another of my originals, which I can't post here, yet, but am posting this one since it has been passed over. Hopefully you all enjoy it. Thanks for listening.

Gray State

First and foremost, I can not stress enough to anyone who comes to listen to my music, you would be better off listening through some seriously high end headphones, or a fantastic stereo system. 

I'm a huge audiophile myself, and love it when composers/musicians put little extra audible things in their mix, or at least have some decent spatial aspects to their works.

I try to put instrumentation in the sound field as if you are sitting there listening to a live performance, where possible.

I upload uncompressed wave files and would love to know that some, if not all, my fans and followers can, and are, enjoying these soundscapes to their fullest.

A setup with a decent sub-woofer would be ideal if you are going the live speaker route. 

This song is sort of a sneak peek at what's coming up next in my world of music. Exploring some more ambient tracks. This one still has some work to be done.

Lost

This is a reimagining of the song Fast Car by Tracy Chapman. My interpretation. No vocals, though, since I didn't really reimagine this for my own voice. 

It's been posted on here for a few years now, but I've opened it up so anyone else who wants to hear it, can take a listen...especially Joy Clark!

Hope she decides to maybe record vocals for it someday.

Fast Car By Tracy Chapman Adapted By Boris Wolf

This is kind of an homage to the style and intent of the piece called "Sheep May Safely Graze" by J. S. Bach: Cantata Nº 208

It holds a place in my heart for its innocence, and playfulness.

Relaxing, humorous, inviting, and makes me want to lay in fields of wheat and watch the clouds go by.

I make no claim to being even remotely close to the skill level that Bach was, or ever will be, for that matter. 

This is one of those older gems I wrote so long ago, back in my early teen years (45 now, as of two days ago), but it never got to see the light of day or heard by many. As time has passed, skill sets have increased, and the fact that I migrated from going to pro studios, to having my own home studio, and being able to use the computer/DAW and awesome VSTi's, to create...it's opened up some of the older songs/pieces of music, to be revamped from what I hear in my head, versus what I was capable of, even 10 years ago with instrumentation.

It's an overly abundant glitchy piece. I just grabbed the trio Sync Bundle from VSTBUZZ...and got right to work. 

There are 12 instances of glitch playing at once...and used very little CPU/RAM.

Dark City

Pretty much an anthem to the decay of society. Wait until you get to see the video for it!

Fit for Human Consumption

Just an idea, forming in the back of the mind...from the perspective of someone who had everything taken from them...the build up and tension to crossing the line into violence, and having absolutely no regrets, because there is nothing left to lose.

Seething

Something will eventually happen in one's life that will make them despair, if only for a short time. Something will happen that will make people believe it's the end. At that point, the alternative seems like it's preferred, and it is, but after a while, after convincing one's self that the expected outcome, is unavoidable, sometimes we begin, against our better judgement, that what we expect, is okay.

We become okay with the thought of death and dying. 

When I awoke the next day after my quadruple bypass, I was very thankful that it turned out okay and I was still alive.

What I wasn't happy with, was myself.

I wasn't happy with how easy it was to accept that I may not wake up and never see my family or friends again.

I wasn't happy with how easy it was to part and parcel off everything I own to friends and family, as a "just in case I don't make it" moment.

I was so fucking livid with myself, that I found it so easy to accept the end for what it could have been, just another parting glass, we'll meet again someday, somewhere, be it here, or in the afterlife, blah blah blah...

The romanticizing of it makes me want to fucking puke!

Fuck you, death.

All The Things I Didn't Do

Felt a little Djent coming on. Progressive, still. Mixing 3/4 and 4/4 time together between the various drums, the main line, heavy guitars, etc. Was fun playing around with the idea. Will come back to it another night/morning. Enjoy!

Pensive

This is a remastered version of a song I did two years ago with my guitarist. We remastered each instrument using iZotope Neutron 2 Standard, and mixed and mastered the entire song with iZotope Ozone 8 standard. 

Take a new listen with fresh ears to this one, only after listening to the previous version still on here, and tell me what you hear differently.
