Welcome to New Orleans: A tribute to New Orleans Funk and Soul is the work of New Orleans native, DJ Personify. Raised in the Crescent City, the die-hard Hip-Hop fan learned early on that many of the samples he discovered originated in New Orleans. He soon became infatuated with the Funk and Soul music recorded there and has spent the better part of the last twenty years immersed in the culture of those records. Personify’s passion for New Orleans' music and culture extends to the present day and is manifested in this DJ mix masterpiece. Lovingly compiled, all of the artists featured on the mix are native to New Orleans with the exception of Hugo Montenegro who plays alongside Al Hirt (a New Orleans native) and The Headhunters, who are included here because of their work with Bill Summers (a life-long New Orleanian). All songs and samples used on this mix were recorded from vinyl sources. On Friday 21st Aug 2015 i was honoured to be asked to DJ @ the opening of Banksys new show "Dismaland" in Weston Super Mare - UK. 
The whole thing was amazing & if you get a chance to check it out i would highly reccomend it !
My Mix started fairly Slow, Dark & Dismal but then people started dancing / getting down so i switched it up a bit about half way through..

Dusty Donuts #10 Anthology Mix

Whilst having a hard drive clearout I found a bunch of my early mixes that I hadn't listened to in a long time. Some have stood the test of time pretty well, others - not so much :)

This first one was based on a mix I originally recorded in 2002 for a 'Bedroom DJ' competition, then re-recorded in 2004 to tidy up a few bits I was unhappy with (when I moved to Exeter and was using this on CD to get gigs). It's the mixtape that started it all for me :)

"The Payback Mix (Pt. 1)" is still one of my favourites - an hour of non-stop heavy hip hop, ragga, and classic beats and breaks on an early Ninja Tune tip. I couldn't scratch for shit back then, but the mixing is tight. This is from back in the days when I used a portable minidisc player alongside my 1210's to drop samples(!)
