Stepping up as our second guest, Trismus brings a pulsating live set filled with his very own atmospheric and powerful sounds, captivating from start to finish.

Trismus started producing electronic music on machines, honing his live techno performances. His dedication to production shines through his immersive and energetic tracks, which he has released on labels such as 47 and TMM Records. He has also had several releases on .inphase, a label dedicated to deep & hypnotic techno that he co-founded with Pause and init1 in 2021.

In 2024, Dutch artist and producer Nadia Struiwigh founded Distorted Waves, a label devoted to releasing music untethered from the usual listening environments -not solely built for the club or the concert hall, but also for all spaces beyond.

Following her first two releases, OXI 5 and Trees, Struiwigh now curates Distorted Waves VA 01. It’s the label’s first various artists compilation and its most collaborative project to date.

A core part of the label’s identity is a deep focus on the technological aspects of music creation. Each release on Distorted Waves explores a specific piece of gear or a particular tool. For this project, that tool was one that Nadia created herself: a custom Sci Fi Ambient sample pack.
Nadia extended an invitation to a circle of 10 artists she’s connected with creatively and personally. Each was given the same starting point: a bespoke ambient sample pack crafted by Nadia. But instead of prescribing direction, the pack served as a catalyst for play -encouraging open-ended exploration without genre constraints.

What emerged is a wide-ranging collection of tracks that bends through power ambient, experimental contours, dubstep pressure, and more atmospheric oscillations. Each track was shaped from the same sonic source, yet arriving somewhere entirely distinct.

“These sounds traveled through many minds, many contexts,” says Nadia. “It’s a kind of group storytelling, one set of frequencies reshaped into many perspectives.”

Rather than chase coherence, Distorted Waves VA 01 leans into divergence unified by source. This is one for the heads.

The mud speaks and the waters remember, as memory drips from canopy to soil unraveling in the undergrowth. Fungal signals scatter from the jungle floor piercing the mind, as breathless chants circle above. Not all paths lead out.

We are very pleased to welcome Kujo as our 44th guest on the Kaos London podcast series.

Kujo is the alter persona of Karl Choueiri, a multidisciplinary artist, mastering engineer, founder of Modular Mind Records and co-director of Exist Festival (Palestine) from Beirut, Lebanon.

Weaponising the usage of noise, drone, and rooted instrumentation as means of confrontation, Kujo’s uncompromising approach to music is to observe, interpret and report the current state. Expressing angst on stage, and drawing  parallels between global conflict and internal turmoil, Kujo's anti-ideological statement can be heard in their debut double gatefold album The Rebels Have No King out on Modular Mind.

Through their Modular Mind Records imprint Kujo curates an arsenal of select artists that embody a counter culture narration of different human conditions. The label presents audio-visual works and unique crafts with each release.
