You're So Sure

Singer/Songwriter/Producer, Deb Ferrara, has a knack for a memorable chorus and sweet layered vocals. Her new EP, Breathe, will be released this spring.

Her music can be heard in  film, TV and advertising projects, including MTV, Paramount, Time Warner and Ricola, and most recently on HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones.

In addition to writing, recording, producing and developing artists, Ferrara founded and hosted the long-running showcase series, NJ Songwriters in the Round, at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ. She also hosted a Girls Night Out series at the legendary Bitter End in New York and co-hosted the New Jersey chapter of the national series, Chick Singer Night.

During this time she released Anything But Ordinary, an original album that garnered rave reviews and won her a spot to showcase at the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Twice Ferrara made her way to Austin to showcase her music at SXSW.

Ferrara's lifelong connection with music began at five years old with “Christmas Time (is Near),” a Christmas record that climbed to #35 on the charts. At the age of 12 she started playing guitar, by 16 she was writing her own music, and at 18 Ferrara recorded and co-produced Go Away, a five-song EP that won two Billboard songwriting awards and the attention of Chrysalis Records. 

Aware of music’s power to make a difference, Ferrara founded Songs for the Cause, a sold-out concert series that raised money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and organized a fundraising concert to benefit the non-profit organization, Musicians on Call. Top-notch indie artists donated their talent, and celebrities including U2’s Edge, B.B. King, Melissa Etheridge, Carole King, Pink, Beyoncé, Bon Jovi, and Bonnie Raitt donated autographed items for auction.

Ferrara is known in the industry for her good ear and keen eye for talent. Several of her showcase artists have since been Grammy nominated, while others went on to write for major artists, and still others went on to tour the world. 

She has been written up in various online and print publications, including Billboard, The New York Times, More and Musical Discoveries. ASCAP featured her in an Audio Portrait for its website. Ferrara is the President of More Good Music Publishing and previously served as Vice President of Women in Music, Inc. She is currently working on new music with long-time collaborator and acclaimed record producer, Askold Buk.
