This DJ has a true sixth sense for reading a room and delivering what it needs regardless of its inhabitants. Whether it be soulful disco, bassline house, or thoughtfully deep house, Mark is your guy. A true puppeteer of the dance floor, Deblock continuously remains a step ahead of selectors around him through his innate ability in unearthing ridiculously fresh and memorable new music. The extent of Mr. Deblock’s catalog of bouncers, bangers, and “secret weapons” has become something of Kootenay folklore, and rightfully so (If you only knew the true extent of it…)
As one of the founding members of The Lost Collective, Deblock’s presence has been vital in the prosperity of one of the most prominent musical scenes in the Nelson area, achieving this through the delivery of such successful events as Gnosis, Amissa and the recent Bloom Nightclub residency, “The Get up Get Down.”
What does the future hold for this selector? Well, with an overflowing list of upcoming events and performances, including a major roll in producing Amissa festival and a steady spot at Shambhala, nothing less than greatness can be expected Deblock.
