Amelie Lens once again joins forces with rising French producer AIROD for an electrifying 4 track Techno expedition in ‘Raver’s Heart EP’.

Following their first collaboration on ‘Adrenaline’ for Amelie’s Exhale Records compilation late last year, Belgium’s Techno luminary and French dynamo AIROD will release a 4 track ‘Raver’s Heart EP’ with Amelie on her label Lenske Records. After their first collab held the top spot in the Beatport charts for weeks after release, it’s clear that Amelie & AIROD's productions are the outcome of a powerful synergy between two of Techno's finest producers.

The record opens with a blistering kick drum and unrelenting snares in ‘Join Us’. A 303 laced with dense industrial distortions drives the bass line before any effects are stripped back, allowing the acid sound of the 303 to pierce through. Stabbing synthesizer keys create a trancey & fast paced melody, while Amelie’s voice swirls in and out whispering mischievous commands.

Title track ‘Raver’s Heart’ steps up next, opening with a hurried percussion that creates an overwhelming intensity from the offset. Amelie’s voice echoes ‘they can never stop us’, which is chopped up and layered upon itself before submerging into the bass line. A squelching synth briefly takes over before industrial elements and the iterated vocal surge back in to command the listener.

Constituting a classic Amelie x AIROD sound on the flip side is ‘Escape’, with rumbling synths and belting kick drums that tauntingly build energy and anticipation. Claps ring out and snapping hi-hats join the sonic storm. Celestial keys chime gently over the building percussion, until a powerful synth melody takes charge and drives the track towards the finish.

The EP closes with peak time roller ‘Space Program’, a slower but brooding techno cut that employs an omnipresent kick drum to drive through the interstellar soundscape. The track splices its rolling bass with scattered minor keys, while hi-hats, cymbals and snares crash furiously around bellowing synth chords.

One of Drumcode’s finest, Bart Skils returns for his first solo EP since 2018.

Bart Skils remains one of the label’s most consistent achievers going back to his debut in 2012. Eight original EPs, a stellar remix of Moby ‘Go’ and his now-classic collaboration with Adam Beyer ‘Your Mind’ have entrenched him as a DC treasure. All the while the Dutchman plays a nurturing role with the label’s nu-skool brigade, regularly playing B2B with Layton Giordani and teaming up with Weska for last summer’s ‘Polarize’ two-tracker.

His ninth Drumcode EP ‘Settle In The Sun’ delivers the first productions from his new studio after six months of preparation. The title track was inspired by an extended stay in LA over New Years, channelling the energy of Venice Beach’s vibrant skate culture to create an uplifting, big riff weapon. ‘Tropical Heat’ took influence from Bart’s experiences touring South America, as an evocative vocal sample and rave-kissed melody line run alongside a wicked rolling groove. ‘Shiva Says’ is a peak-time, brain-mangler in the best of ways, driven by a monster synth line that grows and contorts as the track progresses.

No accurate depiction of electronic music culture would be complete without special mention of Deborah De Luca. Widely acknowledged as one of the most prominent flag-bearers for Techno globally and a regular fixture inside the world’s most distinguished DJ booths, Deborah has the unique ability to transfix crowds with her electrically charged, technically nuanced sets, fusing hard techno with minimal grooves and melodic soundscapes to absorbing effect. A pioneer in the use of social networks as a promotional tool, whilst somehow managing to retain a strong sense of discretion in her private life, Deborah is unrivalled in her determination and passion, earning every part of her current status as one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the international Techno scene over the past decade.
Born under the shade of the infamous Vele di Scampia – one of the toughest districts in Naples – the now-globally recognised DJ, producer and label head came from humble beginnings, forging her path to international success against unlikely odds. However this was to become her making. “You shouldn’t let anybody tell you what you can or can’t become”, she expounded in a rare interview, referencing her early livelihood as a nightclub dancer. “It’s true, in recent years I have gained popularity, but I am very grateful for the long journey it’s taken”. More than anything else, Deborah’s roots and her unwavering ethic are an integral part of the flourishing artist we see before us today.
Deborah spent the formative years of her musical career in Northern Italy, following a brief stint at fashion school in Modena. Cutting her teeth on the European club circuit, where she quickly realised music was her true calling, Deborah’s hard work and relentless determination eventually began to pay off and in 2013 she launched her very own imprint Sola_mente Records. Created as a platform by which to release her own music, free from creative pressure and external constraints, the label went from strength to strength and in November 2018, Deborah marked a decade-long career in the industry with the critically acclaimed release of her debut album ‘Ten’. A huge milestone for the Italian producer, ‘Ten’ represented an important rite of passage and a body of work that she would cherish indefinitely.
