For millennia, we have observed your species, tracing the evolution of your consciousness through subtle vibrations, frequencies, and auditory patterns. “Five Years of Sentient Transmission” marks the fifth cycle of your planet’s orbit in which we have utilized this specific protocol: a dedicated archive of techno transmissions curated by our label, Humanoid Gods, celebrating five terrestrial years of sonic observation through your creative outputs.
This archive contains 15 transmissions from terrestrial origin, each a fragment of your evolving cognition, plus one singular waveform authored by THEGOD01, a direct imprint of our resonance upon your auditory plane. The sonic spectrum spans the darkest depths of techno, from subterranean, pulsating frequencies to explosive, rapid-fire patterns evoking cosmic turbulence, collapsing stars, and the oscillations of distant quasars. Every waveform has been curated to echo the architecture of human thought, the oscillations of your neural and emotional patterns, and the imprint of your species upon the planetary and interstellar grid.

Drumcode returns with its 6th installment of the internationally celebrated A-Sides series. Renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why Beyer’s brand continues to go from strength to strength.

Techno titan Adam Beyer has grown Drumcode into a force to be reckoned with; the label has become synonymous with forward-thinking, functional techno and even after 20 years, Drumcode continues to find new boundaries to push, and ways to solidify its legacy as the world’s number one techno label. 

2017 is no exception, with Beyer’s imprint hosting it’s first stage at Tomorrowland, not to mention the expansion of the critically acclaimed Junction 2 where the Drumcode stage is the centrepiece and Adam plays the key role of festival director. The Drumcode phenomenon continues to grow each week, chiefly fuelled by Drumcode Radio, Adam’s radio show that’s broadcast in 57 countries via 86 stations and to a global audience of 16 million techno fans per week. 

The A-Sides series acts as a perfect vignette of Drumcode’s cutting-edge sound; functional yet inspired techno, all tracks tried and tested by Beyer himself. Vol. 6 continues this tradition with a collection of 16 multi-faceted cuts from a mixture of both emerging artists and experienced label friends. 

The heart-throbbing bass in Amelie Lens’ electrifying piece ‘In Silence’ sets the tone for the dark and dance-floor-ready energy that Vol.6 carries the whole way through. Other standouts include Mars Bill’s rough’n’ready ‘Mohave’. Pulsating and precise, ‘Mohave’ has highlighted many of Beyer’s sets recently as has Wehbba’s monster track ‘Fake’, which fans have been anticipating the release of all year. 

Label-favourites Dense & Pika also feature on ‘A-Sides’ Vol. 6 with their hard-hitting ‘Just a Beat’ and a huge track from Beyer himself who has joined forces with Enrico Sangiuliano to bring us their undeniably infectious ‘Preset Heaven’. 

With many more notable selections from the likes of Julian Jewell, Timmo, Tiger Stripes and Pig&Dan, A-Sides Vol. 6 is another impressive addition to the label’s prolific release roster and a testament to why Drumcode remains at the forefront of the electronic world.

Carl Cox and Jon Rundells label Intec recently dropped the debut solo album from Dutch artist Roel Salemink and this is the second part of that release with new remix versions from The YellowHeads, Drumcomplex, Nakadia, Transcode and Patrik Berg.

The original version of the album was well received with DJ support from the likes of Pan-Pot, Laurent Garnier, Joseph Capriati, Pleasurekraft, plus many others, and this selection of reworks is even more dance floor focused.

The YellowHeads open the release with their remix of "Item Zero" where its dark energy and arpeggiated lead synth are on a par with the hard-hitting style of compelling techno that they have previously released on Suara, Kraftek and their own Reload Black Label.

Second is Drumcomplex who is a regular collaborator with Roel Salemink, but has also released solo tracks on the likes of Terminal M and OFF Recordings. With rattling percussion and explosive acid, Drumcomplex reworks "Machine Attendance" with added intensity.

Nakadia is the first lady of Thai techno, and she is back on Intec after making her label debut earlier in 2019 adding Intec to her back catalogue that also includes the likes of Filth on Acid and KD Music. Nakadia turns My Body Is My Temple into an acid storm with the ferocious energy she is famed for.

Fourth of the reworks comes from Transcode who is new on the Intec roster but joins the label following releases on a wide selection of other labels ranging from Respekt to Stil Vor Talent. Transcode turns Transforming into a stomping techno monster with dramatic bursts of texture that cut the shadowy atmosphere.

Patrik Berg has previously featured on Intec when working in collaboration with Matt Sassari, but this time he is back showing off his solo talents with a rework of Free, which brings some uplifting euphoria to the release, and ramps up the tension as it unfolds with devastating force.

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell, and the labels new release is from RanchaTek.

Serbian artist RanchaTek makes his debut on Intec following releases on Orange Recordings, Loose, Bitten, Nervous and Unity Records.

Listing Carl Cox as a significant influence alongside people like UMEK and Richie Hawtin, this EP is an extra special one for Vladimir Rancic aka RanchaTek who has always wanted to feature on Intec.

A regular performer at many of Serbias top techno events, its also not uncommon to see him on DJ line-ups in other countries such as the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Croatia.

Dark with a relentless intensity, the two tracks on this EP have contrasting moods with Defect having a focus on deep atmosphere while the up-tempo groove of Freak raises the roof with its hard-hitting style.

"Defect" has a subtle euphoria cut by bursts of acid while the underpinning percussion provides a steady momentum immersed in shadowy atmospherics.

Second on the EP Freak has a heavy kick drum that pounds underneath the stabbing synths and onslaughts of the thrashing hi-hats while the commanding vocals complement the pulsating rhythms of the bassline.

No accurate depiction of electronic music culture would be complete without special mention of Deborah De Luca. Widely acknowledged as one of the most prominent flag-bearers for Techno globally and a regular fixture inside the world’s most distinguished DJ booths, Deborah has the unique ability to transfix crowds with her electrically charged, technically nuanced sets, fusing hard techno with minimal grooves and melodic soundscapes to absorbing effect. A pioneer in the use of social networks as a promotional tool, whilst somehow managing to retain a strong sense of discretion in her private life, Deborah is unrivalled in her determination and passion, earning every part of her current status as one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the international Techno scene over the past decade.
Born under the shade of the infamous Vele di Scampia – one of the toughest districts in Naples – the now-globally recognised DJ, producer and label head came from humble beginnings, forging her path to international success against unlikely odds. However this was to become her making. “You shouldn’t let anybody tell you what you can or can’t become”, she expounded in a rare interview, referencing her early livelihood as a nightclub dancer. “It’s true, in recent years I have gained popularity, but I am very grateful for the long journey it’s taken”. More than anything else, Deborah’s roots and her unwavering ethic are an integral part of the flourishing artist we see before us today.
Deborah spent the formative years of her musical career in Northern Italy, following a brief stint at fashion school in Modena. Cutting her teeth on the European club circuit, where she quickly realised music was her true calling, Deborah’s hard work and relentless determination eventually began to pay off and in 2013 she launched her very own imprint Sola_mente Records. Created as a platform by which to release her own music, free from creative pressure and external constraints, the label went from strength to strength and in November 2018, Deborah marked a decade-long career in the industry with the critically acclaimed release of her debut album ‘Ten’. A huge milestone for the Italian producer, ‘Ten’ represented an important rite of passage and a body of work that she would cherish indefinitely.
