I'm ashamed to say that before hearing this wonderful piece, had never heard of Astor Piazzolla but having followed the YouTube link, went and listened to the original and could immediately hear what a remarkable talent he was.  Your version I found to be equally lovely, Debra.  Exquisite work from start to finish.

Listened to AP 1st, his instrument is so dominant, curious how you’d handle the subtle bass & string-fill backing…..Ah Ha! - became an integral part of the song.  Masterful, lovely piece Debra.  And don’t know AP’s ancestry, but doesn’t this sound so Italian??

Long time no see. Since I decided to make a career move, things have been too  hectic(^_^;
Now that I settled down in new workplace, I began to record one-man band again!
I wrote this song for my own band, and played sometimes in venues.
I completed the song here for SC.
Bass solo is always challenging for me, but I enjoyed very much(^_^)

No Kings for Me

This is an original composition of mine featuring solo Cello and English Horn. [very similar sounding to an oboe but with a lower range] A very soft felty piano and background viola sections.

It is called “Unforsaken”. The official definition of “Forsaken” is to be completely deserted or helpless, abandoned. So the title of this piece is the opposite of that. So this is the story of been forsaken, and then clawing your way back with forgiveness and compassion to become unforsaken.

This song began as Carl's tribute poem to our drummer, Ken. Carl came up with the chord progression and started a project, to which he invited the rest of us. This is the third song Eclectic Collective has done that is a tribute by Carl to one of our members.  We couldn't feel more honoured than to be the subjects of his wild and boundless creativity.
  Fittingly, Ken was first in line to add his magnificent drums. Once we had drums, Josh had something to work with to add his bass, which he did shortly after the drums were up. Mark paid the project a visit next, helping out with a bit of production editing, and dropping in a mad percussion solo using his VST timbale drums. Stephen jumped in soon after, adding the melodic electric guitar riffs that appear throughout. Not to be outdone, JJ added some sonically thickening electric piano, as well as the throwback psychedelic synth that pops up towards the end. Finally, Tez came along and added the electrifying solo that appears about a third of the way in, as well as the one at the end. 
  Once the recording was finished, we turned it over to Stephen to mix in his always professional manner. 
  This song is all about our very talented teammate and brother, Ken, and it is well deserved, too. As mentioned, this is the third song from Carl about one of us. It's hard to describe the feeling of having someone who you respect take the time and energy to think about you in such a positive way as to produce a song about you. Then to have all your buddies join in to amplify it to a solid song is just mind-blowing. We are all very grateful to Carl for not only sharing his music with us, but for his thoughtful consideration of each of us as subjects. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

this is a song I wrote for the Alters, a ragtag bunch of fellow amputees,,,sometimes we put our parts together to make a hole……this is the 2nd take with Don “heavyhand” Jones one of the best one legged drummers on the block……this is as far as we got before we started to get a bit “legless”……good fun though……..

8. Nightfall in the Microtone Garden

Best described as eclectic, my style is a soothing mix mirroring my personality: mostly mellow with the occasional outburst. Although I have a background in classical piano I have always loved to create and improvise.  Since early childhood I have been trying to duplicate on the piano what I hear in my head.  Now I see how formal studies and improvisation fit together perfectly. I hope to always keep growing and learning, reflecting the beauty of Christ in all my endeavors.
