Faux départ (feat Sylvie Tiret) TRANSLATED

Aujourd'hui, où une certaine forme de dissolution du comportement humain se fait sentir un peu partout de part le monde, et fait perdre une certaine cohésion ainsi que l'érosion de certaines valeurs …. cela pourrait nous faire douter d'une société future dont on ne sait pas, si elle sera bonne ou mauvaise …. Mais il ne faut pas oublier que l'être humain répugne à l'enfermement, et c'est un merveilleux ressourcement pour son esprit quand il est délivré et qu'il s'engage pour un monde meilleurs. 
Une interprétation du sujet, peut être musicalement marquante, mais fantaisiste ici.

Today, when a certain form of dissolution of human behaviour is being felt all over the world, and a certain cohesion is being lost, as well as the breakdown of certain values .... could make us doubt about a future society which we do not know if it will be good or bad .... But we must not forget that human beings are averse to confinement, and it is a marvellous resource for their spirit when they are liberated and commit themselves to a better world. 
An interpretation of the subject, perhaps musically striking, but whimsical here.

Had some nice feedback about the title of my previous instrumental, so thought I would follow it up with this one - dedicated to all granddads out there!!

GRANDADGADDIO

Robert Schumann (1810-1856) and Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) shake hands in this collection of piano adaptations combined with poetry. Five of Schumann's "Scenes from Childhood" join with selected readings from "A Child's Garden of Verses". In the sixth adaptation, "The Poet Speaks", piano alone, somewhat ironically, carries the meditation.
I have always loved both of these collections. As a child I wrote out many of Stevenson's poems and illustrated them with my crayons. Schumann's "Scenes from Childhood" first found their way into my repertoire in high school and I obviously still enjoy playing them. In no way, however, do I assume to be improving these lovely pieces by my adaptations; I have simply made them my own.
A huge thanks to 1234567890 (Peter) @user-264930040 for his help in choosing poems, and of course for his impeccable delivery. The project would simply not exist without his help. A very big thank you also goes out to David @david-dunhamuser589535203 for his cheerful help in mastering our tracks. (I owe both a great debt of gratitude.)

The Solar System is the gravitationally bound system of the Sun and the objects that orbit it. It formed 4.6 billion years ago from the gravitational collapse of a giant interstellar molecular cloud.  The four inner system planets—Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars—are terrestrial planets, being composed primarily of rock and metal. The four giant planets of the outer system are substantially larger and more massive than the terrestrials. The two largest, Jupiter and Saturn, are gas giants, being composed mainly of hydrogen and helium; the next two, Uranus and Neptune, are ice giants, being composed mostly of volatile substances.  The orbits of the planets are ellipses with the Sun at one focus, though all except Mercury are very nearly circular. The orbits of the planets are all more or less in the same plane, called the ecliptic and defined by the plane of the Earth's orbit.  The orbits of the planets, based on Earth's 1 year orbit, are as follows: Mercury .24 years, Venus .61, Earth 1.00, Mars 1.88, Jupiter 11.86, Saturn 29.46, Uranus 84.01, Neptune 164.80, Pluto 248.80.  They all orbit in the same direction, counter-clockwise looking down from above the Sun’s north pole; all but Venus, Uranus and Pluto also rotate in that same sense.

Each winter here in the UK, small birds enact one of natures great spectacles. Each evening flocks ranging from a few hundred to over 100,000 individual Starlings form up into a single flowing entity swirling above their communal roosting sites. 
Why they do this is not fully understood, with theories ranging from a strategy to distract predators, to a grand display designed to draw more birds to the flock for the purpose of maximising the body heat being generated by the mass of the flock in the roost. 
Whatever the purpose of this behaviour it creates a unique and magical aerial display of great beauty.

The track began with the repeating mallet sequence, then the strings and lastly the piano. I'm finding myself increasingly drawn to improvising around basic chord progressions at the moment and this is another product of this approach. I'm  resisting the temptation to quantize or mess around with the midi in post, so it's all as played and of the moment.

Difference and repetition - ii

Best described as eclectic, my style is a soothing mix mirroring my personality: mostly mellow with the occasional outburst. Although I have a background in classical piano I have always loved to create and improvise.  Since early childhood I have been trying to duplicate on the piano what I hear in my head.  Now I see how formal studies and improvisation fit together perfectly. I hope to always keep growing and learning, reflecting the beauty of Christ in all my endeavors.
