A Certain Kind Of Man

Haven't done any recording in quite a bit but here's a new song! I wanted to make it a bit of a driving rocker with a great melody because it fits with the style of my favourite kind of music.

Try To Make It Right

This is one of those songs where I let the vibe of the music tell me what the lyrics should be. I had the chord progression for ages and didn't know what to do with it, until one day I just let my subconscious take over and the phrase 'come to pass' came to me. The rest of the words practically wrote themselves.

Another new nugget for you all to hear. There's not much to say about this song really, apart from that it's an uptempo heavy rocker with a pop melody - my favourite kind of music! I hope you all enjoy!

Thoughts In My Head

Recently I've been hearing the phrase 'Sit With The Feeling' a lot, and I thought that it was the absolute perfect title to write a song around. Musically, I've been on a quest to write a Pop classic in the style of the 70s music that I love, in this case, Todd Rundgren, Al Green, and ELO. This is possibly one of the most pompous things I've ever written but I have a good feeling about it. Lyrically, it's about the aftermath of a breakup and trying to cope with the painful feelings that come with it.

This track started off with me wanting to write something like Catfish & The Bottlemen, but after experimenting with it on the keyboard it ended up sounding more like Supertramp and took on a completely new life. Lyrically, I wanted the capture the feeling of escapism that I love in the music of Bruce Springsteen.

Young Hearts

I've been working towards a sound in my head. There's always been a part of me that loves the Hard Rock sound with aggressive guitars, rich bass, and hard-hitting drums. However, I've always had a bit of a thing for softer, more melodic music too. My ambition is to combine the aggression of Hard Rock with the melodies of Pop music. I know it's a combination that has been done so many times before, but I like to think that I'm developing my own identity as a musician while using this blueprint.
