On a new episode of Decanting the Week, Sam and Thomas are joined by Haverty. After a rundown of a fun past week in Trump/Russia/dairy farmer investigations, the gang settle into a blind taste test, administered by Sam. Thomas and Haverty learn the components of a test, and what to look for in an unfamiliar wine(as well as smell and taste). Finally, the grim realization comes: Haverty and Thomas have been trolled by Sam's wine selection, as a famous wine from a previous episode returns.

Sam administers another blind test for Thomas, with similar failing results. This time, they consult the Wine Tasting Grid, a standardized method for testing and understanding wines. They also get to another brutal news week: the horrific gas attacks in Syria and an attacks in Russia; Bill O'Reilly engaging in locker-room talk of the second degree; their top three power rankings for 2020 candidates; the monstrosity that is the Kendall Jenner Pepsi ad; if there are any educational institutions that have failed the USA more than Harvard; what Rachel Dolezal means for downward comparisons; and what more Jared Kushner could be doing in this half-baked epsiode of Arrested Development that is real-life.

DTW Ep 12: IT COULD ONLY BE JAREEEEEED/Blind Test Take Two

On the season finale of Decanting the Week, Hari, Sam, and Thomas discuss the first 100 days of the show. Over a bottle of Matthiason 'Tendu' California Red, the boys discuss drinkability, the zombie return of the AHCA, Trump's folding on the budget, Andrew Jackson and the Civil War, Jeff Sessions and his laugher/haters, Ja Rule becoming a populist champion, and who had the worst April: Pepsi, Sean Spicer, or United Airlines?

Additionally, the boys wonder what to make of Trump through his first 100 days, and what to make of the efforts to bolster and unseat him.

Finally, we're concluding our first season here and taking a short break! Thank you to everyone who has listened to the show--we appreciate it more than you'll ever know.
