The band called DECAY came to be at the initiative of the Csuvar brothers, Csuvar “ Goat ” Hunor and Csuvar “ Rat “ Levente in 1996. The idea of the brothers was to compose something new and original for the metal scene. Goat the vocalist being a big fan of doom, death and black metal, and his younger brother the guitarist of the band was heavily influenced by the punk and grunge genres, thought together of combining these styles into one. In the meantime Goats classmate Szabo Roland joined the brothers and became the bands drummer. He had no experience in playing with other bands just like Rat, both of them being self taught musicians. Goat was the one responsible with the lyrics for the band and the instrumental part was Rat’s duty. After some time a Bassist also came into the picture, Varga “ Jackson “ Alexandru. In the same time the band came up with a place for rehearsals, the former place of an old band from Oradea, where they could practice.
A month passed by and the time came for the bands first concert, which turned out to be a booming success, after this being invited to more concerts in Oradea but also within the county. This chapter came to an end in 1999 when the group disbanded, due to the fact that each member had other plans regarding the future.
In the year 2004 the two brothers regrouped, to compose their first demo called “ vortex of thoughts“- https://soundcloud.com/csuvar-hunor/sets/decay-vortex-of-thoughts-demo2001 -. The drum and guitar part being composed by none other than Rat and the bass by Milcomete “ Vampy” Julian. The songs from this demo had absolutely nothing in common with the old songs composed by the old lineup from 1999. In 2013 Goat was invited to sing in a young band where he got to know Gergely Zoltan, and singing with him the famous song from Kreator - “ People of the lie “. This band reached its end as well, but Goat kept in touch with Zoli, the two of them continuing the band DECAY. New members arrived, and they also left, Goat and Zoli remaining the two permanent members. In 2014 they wrote new songs after which came a period of silence for the two. It seemed over for the band initially started by the Csuvar brothers. Zoli contacted Goat telling him that he found a bassist called Gheorghiu Cristian. Cristian has also invited Kibedi Levente, and the band became whole with the drummer Miklos Adam. After the departure of the guitarist K,Levente and the drummer Adam, the place behind the drums was filled by Vlad Tuta. For a short time Goat and Cristi were the only remaining members until the have met with LEVIKING (Nagy Levente Imre, ex.Igfon guitarist) on a SO WHAT?!? ( Rat’s new band ) concert Who was looking for new members for a new project besides IGFON. In the end instead of forming a new project he became the guitarist for DECAY. In short time Mr. Barney (Darai Barnabas ex.Igfon drummer ) joined the band. In the spring of 2016 they had a performance in Abyss Rock/Metal Pub as opening band. Shortly after this Cristi left the band. By the end of summer 2016 Franky (Francu Tudor, ex.Tenebros bassist) joined the band to take Cristi’s place.

DECAY is working on a new material far more complex and hard from a musical point of view than any of their previous materials, with the same purpose as before, to create something original and new.
