DECIBELS IN BLOOM - Now & Then...

Decibels in Bloom are a Rock band from Huddersfield formed In September 2011. The band was ultimately formed using an online music blog as all four members were, up until the bands first practice together, complete strangers to one another. At the same time though, Thomas (Vocals), Tom (Guitar), Adam (Bass) and Niall (Drums) all shared the same visions and ideas that would lead spectators to believe that DinB had been hitting the stage for alot longer than the short 12 months that the band has been formed.

Mixing energetic performances with standout riffs and solo's, DinB have (amongst compitition judges such as 'Live and Unsigned' and music blog reviewers) been likened to a fresh reminiscent of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. ‘It's hard to get away from the obvious comparisons with The Red Hot Chilli Peppers when listening to DinB...' writes Michael Hodgson (leedsmusicscene.com) in a gig review that was also picked up by the Huddersfield Examiner under the headline `Blooming Decibels come with chili kick'. ‘ Lead singer Thomas Corcoran has a real soulful quality to his voice, reminiscent of RHCP's Anthony Kiedis, Howard drives along the rhythm with real energy and Chad Smith-like stick perfect attention to detail; and Sykes has clearly spent his youth learning from Frusciante's funky, swirling guitar sound.'

Although the Band are constantly making new ideas and expanding the current Setlists with brand new original songs and exciting covers to venues and bars around Yorkshire (Huddersfield, Bradford and York) and now even Manchester's well known Night & Day Cafe to their growing list of venues, they have also just completed the recording of the bands first EP entitled 'Start From Scratch' which is a three-track record featuring some of the bands stand-out singles. The first title 'Fighting for the Sun', has been described as ‘Dreamy yet driven funk' by Michael Hodgson (leedsmusicscene.com). 'Dream 42' the bands second track on the EP, shows the versatility of the band, with a song that starts off mellow with lyrics describing ones obsession and fantasies over a passer by they met eyes with, into a energetic and loud performance while still maintaining the songs affection. The third and final track 'Now & Then' is the newest feature to the bands song list and was instantly considered for the EP tracklist. The song is up beat with a twist of funk, and is a song about reminiscing, good times and friendship and has gone down well with the crowds who have heard it so far.

Decibels in Bloom have something for everyone, and will do all they can to continue to keep growing as a band who's driven forward by the one thing they all love the most, making music.
