Beer Saved My Life

"C is for Cookie" is a classic song which we have given the proper respect by covering it... it was probably the most popular song we ever recorded or played live. "Weasel" is perhaps the dumbest song we ever wrote, and we're very very proud of it... it should've won a Grammy.

Our ditty which refers to the inhuman act of farting on an elevator whilst others are present causing them respiratory failure due to the anal vapor. Magic.

Elevator Ride

Written for the end credits for the feature film "Karma Police," this tune is the most recent Decline track and is an instrumental which was recorded remotely... different locations or times for each of the different parts and assembled together. Anthony even said, "Eh, go ahead and play the bass yourself, nobody will ever know it wasn't me." He was right.

The End

Inspired by the hook from "Pleasant Valley Sunday" by The Monkees, "Pleasant" is a breakup song about the sweet release of getting out of a relationship with a shitty human and how your life afterward becomes... pleasant.

Pleasant

One of the very first songs written for Decline, "I Like My Shoes" is like... well, if songs could be documentaries, that's what this song would be. It's about how a magical pair of shoes made a man the ruler of the earth and how he then ascended to become a deity because of those shoes. That happened.

A song expressly written so we could say the word dick. Several of our songs are dick or fart jokes... this is one.

Moby Dick

One of our angriest tracks... however it was written to comically angry; so pissed off that it was silly. It's pretty tame by today's standards... almost easy listening.

Underwear Army

An arrangement by Anthony that's always fun to play live with him on lead vocals, we honor (hopefully) the mighty Devo with a cover of their great song "Peek-a-boo!" from their album "oh, no! it's DEVO" which was released in 1982.

One of the first songs we ever did after having watched some shitty cover bands in our college town of Denton. We knew if they were playing in front of crowds, there was no reason that we shouldn't be... and we did. This is funny though, I (John) had always hated the way I ended the song... there's a maniacal laugh from me that just doesn't fit. But nobody called me on it when we recorded it back in 1988. So now, I have a whole bunch of people laughing and a baby... it works so much better.

Cover Band

A tune about perspective... be thankful for what you have and please quit your bitching. Oh... and this one features big ass chimes in it, and a guitar solo with 4-part harmony. Huzzah!

Bitch and Moan

Our homage to the greatness of Dr. Seuss was actually inspired by Jesse Jackson's dramatic reading of the same book on Saturday Night Live. Google it.

Green Eggs & Ham

Another one of the earliest tracks probably recorded in '88 or '89, which was way before the band of the same name became known. This was always fun to play live.

Formed in 1987 for a party in Denton, TX, Decline has underachieved like no band in the history of bands. They managed to stay together for over 25 years and wow nobody. They did, however, open for Pantera, The Toadies, Crowbar, and Billy Goat during that time. That tells you their level of failure... they tout who they opened for. Anyhow, here are some of their crossover thrash/punk tunes from their 25 year history of making the music that they mainly played for one another and a very small group of loyal friends who would tell them "You guys don't suck that bad."
