“Urban Wilderness (Reimagined)” is an up-tempo alchemy of 80’s synth-pop and modern electronica in which dancy grooves and vocal stutters are drenched in melancholic synths. Multi-instrumentalist/producer Gerry's funky rhythm guitars sparkle around slap-bass licks, while Emma’s captivating lead vocal soars above the nostalgic soundscape. The song is written as an homage to Cape Town, the duo’s beloved hometown, and South Africa’s famous Mother City. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the city, with contrasts between nature and urban sprawl, alluding to both the thrill of traveling the world and a nostalgic longing for home – a bittersweet love letter.

Urban Wilderness (Reimagined)

Good mood music. Deco have become one of the UK’s most intriguing viral pop acts in the last 2 years. With their knack for classic songwriting and capturing millions across social media, the quintet, formed by siblings & lifelong friends, blend the contemporary with their love of the synth pop records, thrust upon them by their parents growing up.

Honing their craft and building their following with early releases such as Chances, Deco quickly became a hit at festivals, sold out their 2019 UK tour and supported the likes of Jess Glynne on tour.

Like all artists, their ascent was threatened by the arrival of the pandemic, but this challenge and the need to adapt only accelerated their path to bigger things. ‘Winning the internet’ in lockdown and beyond with millions of views for their viral mashups, Deco truly embodied the sense of escapism they carry throughout their songwriting. They appeared on National TV & radio, played BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, supported the likes of Nile Rodgers, A-ha & Boy George on tour & garnered endorsements from musical heroes.

2024 has been a breakthrough year.  After an exciting summer of touring with music legends Nile Rodgers & CHIC + Sophie Ellis Bextor, Deco released their highly anticipated debut album 'Destination: I Don't Know' which entered the Official UK Album Sales chart at Number 10. and has been endorsed by the likes of Nile Rodgers & Elton John. The album is currently on the road with Deco's biggest sold out UK  tour yet.
