Hello everyone and welcome to the exclusive Progcast from Il Modo, your weekly trip around Planet Progressive. Join us as we traverse the globe in search of the best and boldest DJ Mixes we can find, while delivering them direct to your ears! 

This week sees us head back Stateside, with a veteran DJ returning to the Il Modo decks. Stepping right out of the fabled Florida rave scene, our guest today knows how to smash any dance floor he comes across. Make some noise for Ablekid! 

Ablekid, aka Daniel Moore is a veteran DJ/producer from the Orlando underground. His journey into dance music was as fortuitous as it was inevitable with his introduction to dance music beginning in the late 80's and early 90's with legendary Central Florida clubs like Aahz and Marz. 

After picking up a set of decks in 2000, he started buying vinyl by the crate-load. While honing his skills he began an internet radio show at the Drop Shop in Orlando with fellow DJ, Bert Simmons, and soon, a small following developed. 

Fast-forward to a move to the musical hotbed of Austin, Texas in 2009, the Ablekid moniker had seen success in various forms. Now signed to Praveen Achary’s Juicebox Music imprint, along with older releases on Christian Lang’s Kindred Recordings (Paris) and Rapid Fire Records (Miami), Daniel had also fostered many relationships in the community by becoming part of the esteemed Release Promo roster more than a decade ago. 

In 2018 he was tapped to be FRISKY Radio's "Artist of the Week" and afterward was offered his own slot on the esteemed site where his show, Waveforms, has enjoyed over 6 years of success. His continued success in the US underground is a combination of effective crate digging, silky smooth DJ skills and just the right amount of grit and determination. His mixes and productions are the result of all this hard work and show a depth of knowledge and attention to detail. 

2024 will see new music released after a long break from production, and some of the scene's freshest underground talent as guests on his Frisky show, stay tuned.

All of which, natch, means we are beyond delighted to have him debut on Selador. The beneficiary of Panthera’s craft is none other than our very own Steve Parry. With new tune ‘Turn Up the Juice’ already hailed as an “anthem” by Hot Since 82, the juice gets turned up a few notches more with this bodyslammer of a remix.

Our man Panthera remains true to the spirit of Steve’s original but goes darker with a late 90s / early 00s vibe with whip cracker percussion, dirty synths, and the opulent vocal hook all aiding and abetting this unabashed act of grand dancefloor larceny.
