It was only last year that we welcomed Buenos Aires duo This & That into the Solide family and already they’re back with another stunning release, titled ‘Uyasabeka’. Where their previous EP felt dusky and rolling, on ‘Uyasabeka’ brings the funk. It’s bright and lively with shuffling hi-hats and delicately prancing synths.

Sobek, another returning face, provides a rework in the wildest sense. The original ‘Uyasabeka’ is unrecognisable in his grasp as he flips things into a spooky and propulsive drum workout, complete with snarling acid and wobbly synths.

Tash's Movement Recordings rounds out the month of October by welcoming Blancah back to the label for her debut single. First emerging nearly a decade ago with 'Who's That' via Berlin powerhouse Steyoyoke, Brazilian artist Blancah has become one of her country's most recognized electronic music exports. In finding the creative sweet spot between melody and groove, the Florianópolis resident has compiled an impressive resume, showcasing her music via Einmusika, Renaissance and her own Hiato imprint. Also well established as a DJ, Blancah has travelled the globe, showcasing her impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills at some of the world's premiere venues and festivals. Movement Recordings has also been a home to Blancah, with a 2018 remix of 'Nemesis' by Paul Anthonee marking her label debut. Now, following a remix for Proton's Particles, Blancah makes a welcome return to Movement for her first single 'Vertical Horizon', alongside remixes from Mila Journee and Morttagua. The original mix sets the tone for the release and finds Blancah showcasing her dancefloor minded ethos. Its dominant presence is anchored by rocketing beats and powerful percussive flashes, tastefully building to a wild-eyed intensity of percolating acid lines and pyrotechnic designs. With a peak-time energy that exudes spirit, Blancah pulls from her expansive repertoire as the main break takes shape, infusing orbiting effects and deconstructed sonics with a vortex of filtered acid; resulting in the ultimate dancefloor rush. Making her label debut with the first interpretation of 'Vertical Horizon' is Mila Journee. Hailing from Brazil, Mila Journee has enjoyed a rapid ascent in the world of electronic music. Although her debut came in 2017, the Brazilian talent has already compiled an impressive resume. Releases on Diynamic, Renaissance and Ritter Butzke sit as discography highlights, while the world's most influential DJs such as Solomun have championed her music. In what has been her best year to date, Mila now adds Movement Recordings to her portfolio with a fresh rendition of 'Vertical Horizon'. While maintaining the elusive spirit of the original, Mila aims squarely at a peak hour dancefloor with a sweeping sonic experience all her own. An exhilarating journey where mesmerizing machine progressions, striking stabs and chunky basslines surface from their groovy architecture, for an exhilarating sonic experience. The release concludes with Morttagua who returns to the label for his second appearance. As one of Brazil's foremost progressive house producers, the Rio de Janeiro resident has firmly etched his place in the genre's history. As a permanent fixture in Beatport's sales charts, Morttagua's productions have graced long standing imprints such as Beatfreak, Blackhole, Univack, and his own Timeless Moment imprint; while world class DJs Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Solomun, Tale of Us and more have supported his work along the way. With Morttagua's Movement Recordings debut coming in 2021 with a remix of 'Arctic' by Alexandros Djkevingr, Greg Ignatovich and Rauschhaus, the Brazilian artist now finds his way back to the label with a nostalgic take on 'Vertical Horizon'. Taking the track into more of a traditional progressive house context, the Rio de Janeiro resident crafts a storyboard of thumping grooves, evolving effects and rousing rhythmic themes to round out the release on a strong note.

After in all 9 EPs and one album the Traum artists Ryan Davis and Microtrauma have joined forces to record a new EP together. 

They're opening track "Harmonia" is a track with a great choice of variables and a skilled and artistic form of shifting and moving them within the track. The result is a loose and unpredictable track which has gigantic, sonic moments. At times it takes out the beat and pulsates along not loosing any of the intensity, the contrary is the case... with each free minded passage the track gains more depth. "Harmonia" is a tremendous piece of hypnotic techno with an gripping arrangement.

"Calendula" starts rather introspective and silent but undergoes an enormous transition which puts it in a league with some of the best gentle pieces of melodic techno around.
It is hard to wrap up in words how the track moves to totally different corners music wise within its eight minute ride but for all of you who know Ryan Davis and Microtrauma you will have expected something like this to happen.

Dubspeeka has remixed "Calendula" in the style of a raw and heavy grinding techno track that is invaded by sounds that come and go in perfectly timed intervals.

"Philomela" rounds up the EP and is night crawler of a track that skillfully works with a broken beat and a carpet of orchestral sounds that later are joined by darker ones to create an overall gloomy atmosphere.

Harmonia with Microtrauma

Rothmans are back with their first release of 2016 and who better to bring in the new year than italian electropsycho's DJ Rocca & Daniele Baldelli. Of course this record would have to pay tribute to an Italian great and who better than 1982 world cup hero Marco Tardelli ?! First up on the EP is a synth-funk journey called Kratos. Rocca goes full on here and doesn't hold back as he takes us on a journey of Synth wizardry and classic Italo beats. Up next is an another original from Rocca called Fonk 400 another track that could have been plucked starigt out of the golden age of Italo Disco , again Rocca is pulling no punches here. The EP is rounded off in spectacular fashion , just like Marco Tardelli's Famous world cup final celebration we have nothing short of genius with Daniele Baldelli's Electropsychomix of Kratos premiered here ! Baldelli doing what he does best and taking us too another level yet again. After 2015 being their strongest year to date Rothmans look like they are gonna start the new season just as they ended the last - top of the league baby !

Aus release more music than pretty much any other label on earth, which is great if you, like us here at THUMP, are really into club-ready house music that comes in as many flavours as those new fizzy drink machines you get at places like Five Guys. You know the ones we mean; the contraptions that let you rot your teeth in an amazing array of ways. The modern world is brilliant! 

Their latest 12" sees imprint-owner Will Saul working alongside long term label favourite Komon on the fantastically lithe "Harmonise," a rollocking roller that's more suited to greenhouses than warehouses. 

The B-side sees a pair of big, big remixes. The first comes from Juju & Jordash who take things down a slightly more acidic path, leading us to imagine what exactly would happen if one was to feed a venus fly trap a tab or seven of good, strong acid? Presumably very little, really, but don't EVER deny yourself that kind of flight of fantasy. Plants on drugs...imagine!

Moving swiftly on, the other remix comes from one of the classiest men on the circuit—Mr. Nick Höppner. As you'd expect from a man whose productions and DJ sets redefine the idea of "chic, sleek, European house and techno," he's turned in a reworking so effortlessly cool that repeated exposure has the potential to freeze you to your own sofa. We reckon it's worth the risk.

The first of which was curated for and showcased live at the iconic, clubbing mecca of Brazil, Warung Beach Club. Aimed at drawing the crowd, venue and performer all together forming in synergy, with an artist exploring intimate ties built with different international venues in a way that best exhibits their sound and energy. We begin by connecting HOSH from fryhide label boss with the first edition on the Atlantic Coast, The iconic Warung Beach Club in Brazil. A utopia of the dance music community known for euphoric melodic sunrises which have gifted HOSH
on many several occasions during his past decade of touring.

Seven Seas (Original Mix) [Become One]

Los Angeles-based artist Eric Sharp links up once again with longtime collaborator Zhao on the Swedish imprint House Music With Love for an emotional single titled 'Monday Blues' and now the remix package includes three new mint versions by Pandhora, Urmet K and SOAME.

Pandhora creates very smooth track with a percussion-play that is right on point making it blend perfectly together with the bassline and the wobbly synthesizers. The vocals and the samples are cleverly used and well placed, and the live guitar riffs give it that little extra touch. This track is spacious, yet warm and intim ate.

Urmet K goes deep on this one, playing with the vocals and giving them space to echo throughout the track. A very nice touch on an already great remix. The drops are heavy with a great amount of bounce, making for a slightly darker sound before the melodic notes once again re-emerges. Absolutely beautiful work all together.

SOAME gives us a slighly mysterious feel with this remix. The beautifully EQ'd kick and the ongoing bassline marries very well and makes the entire track hit hard. The pads and the ringing notes gives for a darker ambiance, and the perfect part of the vocal sample was used to give it that extra edge. It's a great track, and a show of how one can transform the atmosphere of a song with the use of clever details.
