keoki all day, my all time favorite dj to this day!!!

I originally started this remix way back in the depths of winter, as I was in a dark lockdown with hardly any social contact, and whilst sorting through my old CD singles I decided to make this track to put me in the headspace of 'going outside in the sunshine'. 

With the restrictions in the UK finally lifting and we can actually go to clubs and festivals again, I thought it would be the perfect time to get back in the studio and finish the track off and this is the result!

Production notes:

* The acapella is taken from the Hex Hector Mixes, so has some reverbs and delays baked in unfortunatley

* The cover art is taken from a mixture of the 12" vinyl mixes sticker and the official CD single cover art, I tried my best to match the original font too.

* The piano is the Korg M1 and the bass is the Yamaha Solid Bass (emulations) and the drums are the 909 and the Bobby Byrd "Hot Pants" drumbreak. I was clearly vibing on the 90s piano club vibe!

* There are very subtle backing FX of a city and police sirens, not only as a reference to the original "Outside" by George, but also as a nod to lockdown.

* The incidental swirly synth stab is actually a replayed melody from the original "Outside" (it appears are 0:42 for the spotters)

* The strings are from Nexus VST replayed from the original.

I had great fun working on this one, and I'm slowly getting round to finishing off a lot of projects from earlier this year so please keep your ears pinned!

Created in 1996 by Edgar L. Montiel, Decoding Jesus is an electronic act that flows in the conduits of Electronica and has created its own genre called Electro-Alternative. After a few months of performing live around local clubs and raves, the late Terrance Brown discovered Decoding Jesus.  With such great artists like Cause & Effect, Sylvester, and many others under his belt, Brown signed Decoding Jesus to his record label Megatone Records. Releasing several singles under different names, Decoding Jesus took charge with the exclusive task of remixing the Megatone Records catalog. Not long after, Decoding Jesus was elected into the ASCAP family and started their own music publishing company, Decoding Jesus Music. 

 The tragic death of Terrance Brown saw Megatone Records put to rest and its extensive catalog sold to different executives within the music industry. Following the tragedy, Decoding Jesus sought out a new record company to represent and distribute their work. Building a good network of friends and people in the music industry, it would not be long before Decoding Jesus captured the auditory senses of other top-notch music executives. 

Brian Pareda, president of Cleopatra Records, offered Decoding Jesus a non-exclusive record deal to produce what they do best! Decoding Jesus' pulsating sound has made its way into the remix productions for other artists like Missing Persons, Santana, Bob Marley, Tavares, Moby, and other great artists. 

Decoding Jesus‘ work has been well received and licensed by other electronic labels such as Golden Lane Records and Hypnotic Records (which received a deal to release two CDs of Trance-mix music as DJs: This is Rave 5, and This is Trance 3.0). Decoding Jesus' popularity with these releases enhanced and fortified their skills both as a producer of electronic music and as a hit DJ playing club scenes from all over the world!

Decoding Jesus’ performances are renowned for their cutting-edge, intensity, and sensory, 3D BEATS! One has to experience a Decoding Jesus live show to say that their sound is truly hypnotic and unforgettable. In 2006, Decoding Jesus landed a world distribution deal after establishing their independent record label, Let’s Beat Milo Records. Decoding Jesus has a productive future in the industry and is ready to supply listeners with a truly captivating and mind-blowing musical experience.
