For a newly emergent producer, Ansome's sound is hugely confident. Inspired by a raw and urban UK techno lineage, his drums are heavyweight, his percussion fierce and his synths full blooded. All in all that makes for music that grabs your attention and drags you along for an enthralling ride. Littered with his own field recordings, it can be variously eerie or boisterous, but its uncompromising stuff of the sort anyone from Perc to Karenn would be proud.

With some vinyl releases this year, like SLAM001 and Penny & Pound, this British producer become more and more populair.

Following last year’s breakthrough album “Tundra”, Lakker return to R&S with a very special new project.
 
Lakker were commissioned by the RE:VIVE Initiative to create a new conceptual work solely sampling field recording, TV and radio broadcasts from the Dutch National AV archive, The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. The curated material provided all related to and was representative of the theme the “Dutch and water”
 
The resulting 8 track release “Struggle and Emerge” is a tense soundtrack to the machine driven mid-20th century that captures the complex relationship between the Dutch and the water that surrounds them- unyielding, colossal, industrial. 
 
Broadcasts from the flood of 1953, which claimed over 1,800 lives and decimated the southern province of Zeeland are sampled in the gloomy “Open Clouds”. The contemplative “Broken Clouds” features a radio broadcast the day after the Nazis inundated the Wieringermeer Polder in 1945 in an act of desperation before retreating.
 
In order to combat the catastrophic power of the sea Dutch engineering has needed to go to equal extremes. On the album, the propulsive and dramatic “Reclamation” blaring “Ever Rising” and pummeling “Maeslantkering Gating” capture the sheer size, scale and power that is Dutch flood protection. Lakker gained inspiration from archival footage of the closing of the 32km Afsluitdijk, a man made barrier protecting the Netherlands from the vicious North Sea, a first hand visits to the futuristic engineering marvel, Maeslantkering and the never ending challenge of keeping the sea at bay. 
 
To gain insight into their topic, Lakker ventured on a tour around the Netherlands, meeting leading academic experts in the field. From the world’s premier flood defense department at TU Delft, to a professor of amphibious culture at the Free University of Amsterdam, to art historians and specialists on the ground; the duo were given first hand insight into the centuries long tumultuous relationship between the Dutch and the water.

A Cornish ex-pat who now resides in south London, Kieran Whitefield is the man who puts the dark in Poldark, combining a warm persona with a deadly serious attitude to his music. Consistently changing his sound as new equipment and techniques are utilised in his studio the album mixes up the type of 5am club rippers he is known for with an exploration of more spacious and atmospheric tracks.

El misterioso duo argentino YYYY con base en Buenos Aires toma protagonismo en este EP con dos tracks originales donde podemos sentir una profunda intensidad emocional, un sonido industrial, experimental y lleno de atmosferas orquestales que pueden acompañarte en un profundo viaje al mas allá. El EP se completa con dos potentes remixes en la cara "B". ´Conquer Us´, is the name given to the 11th reference to be released on the prestigious Spanish label Injected Poison Records. The mysterious Argentinian duo YYYY based in Buenos Aires are the main contributors on the EP boasting two original tracks, which both pour-out an intense emotional feeling, as well as compliment a sound both industrial, experimental and full of rich atmospheric and orchestral features that lead the listener on to make a journey into their own minds. The EP is also accompanied by two thought-provoking remixes on its B side.

Indigo Kennedy, having releases already on important international labels such as, Asymmetric, Token, Semantica and Stroboscopic Artifacts, has transformed ´Conquer Us´ into a dance-floor friendly version adding a different potent and raw emotional edge.
Jose Pouj has chosen a slightly riskier path by puting his own phrenic twist on the original with added texture, substance and background.

On this occasion, the label has provided digital support by means of four bonus tracks by different Argentinian talents: YYYY are responsible for; ´Redundance´, ´Stab someone´ and ´We´ll never know for a fact´ Where as Farceb, up and coming talent and producer known for his recent work with ARTS has contributed the remix of ´Stab someone´.
It´s definitely an EP fully charged with sensory emotion that will be hard to ignore.

Just This 's first Various Artists aims to the research of a mix of sounds by producers from different countries, to a journey into a variegated world. Melancholic vibes, deep ambient atmospheres.

The second part of the Various Artists, gets straight to the point, reaching the dancefloor in a more hard and deep insistent way.

The first track ‘’Inside world’’ is composed by Hunter/Game, as a playful banger with a solid kick, brushed percussions and surging, subtly atmospheric synth pads that make the track dreamy while fierce.

The second one by Pisetzky comes with a strong, continuous 4/4 bassline and organic percussion from start to end, further on dominated by a hypnotic melody followed by a more romantic and dreamy motif full of longing melancholy and eternity.
 
 The third one comes from Just This new Artist Altman, with a breaking  mellow downbeat theme, it lets all squeaky sounds mesh nicely  like a dream landscape opening up into a widescreen chord progression, with an epic build up.

This week with Berlin artist Charly Schaller!

Born in Munich Germany, Charly Schaller discovered her passion for Techno  during her gap year when she was first exposed to it as a raver in Berlin’s Techno clubs. After moving to England to study at the University of Cambridge, she developed her penchant for diverse sub-genres of techno music after being exposed to an ambit of musical cultures in the UK.  Upon finishing her studies in Philosophy, Charly relocated to Berlin and began DJing in various clubs and venues across Berlin and Germany, including: About Blank, Grießmühle, and Arena Club.  
Since her debut, Charly’s DJ repertoire has embraced an eclectic musical collection that allows the audience to explore a truly personalised sensorial experience. Boasting a passion for tracks with vocals, as well as Rave, percussion heavy bangers, and dramatic synth lines, Charly merges divergent musical styles in her DJ sets as a unique signature; one that inspires the audience to be fully immersed in the euphoric experience that only music can inspire.  
Charly is currently a promoter and resident of Edge Detection (at PAL/About Blank) and Strictly Forbidden (at Maze).
