And let’s be clear: Decor Sams isn’t new to this. This project stands on a deep catalog of lived work, created under multiple names—Ro Sams, Rolee Sams, and alongside the band Vyntage Sams. Different eras, same mission: sound with soul, art with backbone.

A fresh take on Roy Ayers’ Sunshine,  as a neo-soul, jazz-forward, experimental jazz cover. Respecting the original warmth while pushing it into a modern groove. Smooth, intentional, and built to feel good.

A jazz reinterpretation of Childish Gambino’s Redbone. One of my favorite records, so I had to touch it—keeping the soul, stretching the harmony, and letting the groove breathe. A love letter in jazz form.

Red Bone

This track is built from the trip-hop bloodline.
Heavily influenced by Zero 7’s softness, FKA twigs’ vulnerability, and the shadow work of Massive Attack, Portishead, and Tricky. It pulls from the architects and the outsiders alike—DJ Shadow’s dust, Morcheeba and Lamb’s mood, Björk’s fearless experimentation.
You’ll hear echoes of Sneaker Pimps, UNKLE, Thievery Corporation, Air, and Bonobo—music that moves slow, thinks deep, and values texture over spectacle. This isn’t about hooks screaming for attention. It’s about atmosphere, restraint, and emotional weight.

Sexual Chocolate is a concept record with a sweet tooth and a sharp mind.
I challenged myself to write a neo-soul, hip-hop joint that lives comfortably in both worlds: culture and commerce. The kind of track that could slide into a Snickers or Krispy Kreme spot without losing its soul.
The influence is intentional—Q-Tip’s playful intelligence, Common’s smooth conviction, Dilla’s pocket and warmth. It’s flirtatious but classy, clever without trying too hard. Everything melts, nothing spills.
This is feel-good music with discipline.
Velvet drums. Rich chords. A groove that smiles at you.
Bottom line: Sexual Chocolate is smooth branding with backbone—indulgent, soulful, and built to linger.

Voice Notes started as a placeholder and turned into the point.
No written lyrics, no polished verses—just instinct. I couldn’t find the words, so I left the feeling instead, captured as voice notes and scatted melodies meant to be filled in later.
But the rawness hit harder than anything planned.
Unfiltered. Honest. Human.
This track lives in that in-between space—where ideas are forming, emotion speaks first, and perfection isn’t invited. Thought I’d share it with y’all exactly how it showed up.
