In the midst of his breakthrough North American tour with sold out dates across the continent, Brazilian sensation Mochakk has taken the dance scene by storm in 2022. Alongside his instant-classic performances, he’s proven himself to be a production maestro which is readily apparent on “Da Fonk,” a sweltering house tune that arrives via the esteemed Nervous Records. Born Pedro Maia, Mochakk is a 22-year-old sensation whose thrilling persona behind the decks matches his prolific production. Growing up in the midst of fashion, hip-hop, and skating culture, he attended fashion school for six months and found his musical start as a beatmaker before eventually pivoting to electronic music full-time. Following his discovery of house music in particular, he became a dedicated student of the genre and used that to his advantage as he progressively made waves in his home country of Brazil, both as a meticulous producer and mesmerizing performer. In recent months, his presence has gone global as he’s embarked upon an expansive North American tour with multiple sold out dates in tow, dominated a laundry list of festivals internationally, done B2B sets with the likes of Vintage Culture, and is now headed toward a slot at the sacred stages of Ibiza this summer. With standout releases like “False Need” via Black Book alongside an exponentially growing fanbase with over 1 million followers, not to mention a smash forthcoming remix for The Martinez Brothers and a brilliant collaboration with the ever-inventive Chloé Caillet, Mochakk is prepared for his breakout moment in the underground and the main stage alike.

Food for the Soul,

There are certain things in our world that inspire life. Spending time with friends, adventuring, partying; everyone has different foods for their souls. 

In my debut independent single, I was on a search to emulate the euphoria of life that makes your cheeks blush and sends chills down your spine. Music, especially electronic music, evokes an animation for life in me. It is a community of people connected on an energetic wavelength, where the regular struggles of day-to-day life become invisible. No judgement, just an experience with the music. 

I'm at a crossroads in my life. I am a senior about to graduate from USC. When I started producing in high school, I was awful – making terrible song after terrible song. A few times I gave up, but I consistently found myself coming back to the music. Six years later, I am ready to share my art and vision with the world. I didn't force it. I didn't make music with the goal of being popular. I have given my all in pushing myself to reach my full creative potential. 

From songwriting and producing this track, filming this video on my Super 8 in Indonesia, developing the film, and editing in Premiere; I have been in full creative control.

I hope this song resonates with you. It is the advent of a project with years of work behind the scenes that I am finally ready to emerge from the shadows and see the light.

Bio:

In 2016 after previously playing b2b on a regular basis, Drogheda duo Jordan Bohan and Kyle Rankin formed Decorum. Since then they have built a brand which has seen them play on the same line ups as some of the biggest names in the industry including, Special Request, Fjaak, Ejeca, Dennis Sulta, Hannah Wants, Solardo + Many more. 

Decorum have played at club nights and festivals all around the emerald isle and are planning to extend internationally once things return to normal. Some festival highlights include Enter the Coven, Flame Festival, Valley of Arts and more. Decorum have also hosted there own nights in multiple venues across the north east of Ireland with more planned in 2021

At the start of 2019 Decorum began their journey in music production and since then have racked up an impressive amount of recognition throughout the European industry with tracks being released on labels such as Houz, Project Brand, Real rotation Recordings, Too Rough 4 Radio [TR4R] (Cassette+Digital) and Choki Biki Records (Vinyl +Digital) with plenty of new music planned for 2021.
