KONCEPT Podcast: 022 - Daryn Steytler

Daryn Steytler kicks off the first podcast for the year for his label. In this podcast he brings inspiration from different events that he has attended and played at from the past year. He starts with a different approach to his set with a House/Dub sound and works his Raw hypnotic modular sound in later, he then ends off with a high temp groove to keep the energy going.

Daryn Steytler is a young Techno producer from Stellenbosch/Cape Town. His underground sound of production has seen this young talent play various stages across the country. Daryn Steytler is also the founder and director of LINKED which is an event company that feeds into the ever growing techno scene in Cape Town. He also runs his own independent imprint/label called KONCEPT which strives on underground culture and RAW/Deep/Hypnotic/Modular/Dub production, inspiration coming from LINKED events and the sound that the event portrays.

Filip Janicki to nie tylko postać godna scenariusza filmowego, ale także człowiek, który z fizycznego ograniczenia wydobył nadprzyrodzoną moc. Mimo problemów ze słuchem, stworzył unikalny sposób odbierania i tworzenia dźwięków, przekraczając granice zmysłów. Rozpoczynając przygodę z muzyką blisko 20 lat temu, nie chciał być jednoznacznie zdefiniowany w świecie muzycznym. Klub stał się jego strefą komfortu, gdzie, jako introwertyk, mógł przyjąć rolę ekstrawertyka.

Jako członek różnych kolektywów i kurator renomowanych cykli imprez, Janicki zdobył uznanie na scenie klubowej. Jego artystyczna osobowość, eksplorująca różne gatunki muzyczne, sprawiła, że jest jedynym w swoim rodzaju człowiekiem renesansu. Posługując się aliasami Jensky i Deaf Can Dance, udowadnia, że muzyka elektroniczna przekracza wszelkie bariery i wymiary.

Apart from being software passionate and engineer for years I`m also a music lover since I was a child. My father used to play the old reel-to-reel tape player and gramophone to little me lying in cradle. It was so infectious that as a 5-year-old I was able to play music on reel-to-reel tape on my own. What happened next?
Then I went to technical studies where my inside melomaniac grew even further. I have programmed Flanger effect with the use of DSP processor. I started playing guitar and drums. Self learner, sometimes it was blood and tears, but in the end totally worth it. Together with a couple of folks we managed to record a few singles and throw some local gigs (me on drums). I dived into electronic sounds some years ago, but started with mixing DJ sets and experimenting with styles in August 2020 so I`m here ... still learning and enjoying at the same time.
I hope, one day we meet at the party ...
