It’s been nearly 2 years since Jon E Clayface was last seen on the label, opening the door for a long awaited return, this time alongside 1Forty’s other leading Grime & Dubstep producer Fork And Knife. This instrumental has been in the possession of the label since before Jon E Clayface’s last release so it’s been a long time in the making, and arguably one of Fork And Knife’s finest pieces of work to date. Clayface lays his aggressive style over the rolling dubstep tones to deliver ‘Come Correct’.

Recently moving to Bristol (another one), away from the capital, Fork And Knife has carved out a sound that pays homage to the underground scenes that have shaped him as a person over the past decade. Spreading his wings throughout Grime, Garage and Dubstep he’s applied techniques from producing different genres over the years with the result being unique structures with injections of sharp sound design using square wave basses and an often frantic yet stellar selection of drums. It’s not hard to understand why his sound is so original with 10 years of production under his belt.

Fork And Knife made his debut on the label with a giveaway ‘Real Monsters’ in 2018 which gathered support from the likes of Toddla T on BBC Radio 1, and its follow up ‘Real Monsters VIP’ for the ‘2 Years Of 1Forty’ Release, the latter the following summer. The end of 2019 saw a triple header producing Killa P’s ‘They Don’t Know’ and collaborating with 9TRANE for ‘Check It’ both on 1FGRM004 before another Single with Grime’s youngest prodigy SBK for ‘Bars’. Fork And Knife resumed his allegiance to Dubstep with ‘Reptar’ on the last GRM release, 1FGRM006 last December. This latest production makes it his 4th consecutive year on the label.

Exploding onto the scene in 2015 Jon has gained a huge amount of respect for his authenticity in his music which comes down to his personality and his lifestyle. What comes as a surprise to most is his influence of heavy metal from a young age which is applied to his lyricism, aggressive on the surface but full of depth. Owing a lot to Ten Dixon for first getting him to make the jump from producer and DJ to MC, and the likes of Balamii, Radar and Mode FM for giving him the platform to light up sets, Jon has more than held his own ever since on tracks and radio alike also owing plenty to his work ethic. Cosigned by the likes of Sian Anderson, Rude Kid and Spooky as well as working with the likes of P Money and Jammz 2020 was a defining year with a feature on Wiley’s album ‘Godfather 3’ alongside a couple of solo self releases. 2021 was his most active year yet amidst a pandemic with multiple projects alongside Ten Dixon and most recently his first collab with Fork And Knife on PAV4N (Foreign Beggars) label 4NC¥.

Since its first night in March 2013, Boxed has helped cultivate a
generation of instrumental grime. Inspired by the raw talent coming
through in 2012 and driven by the lack of club spaces to play it in,
Slackk, Mr. Mitch, Oil Gang and Logos’s clubnight has hosted rooms at
Fabric, Plastic People, The Troxy and Birthdays, and is set to embark
on its first tour later this year. Some of electronic music’s most
crucial producers - Mumdance, Finn, Murlo, JT the Goon, Yamaneko and
many more - have found a second home of sorts in Boxed, and the
residents were amongst the first people championing their music.

People have talked about “the Boxed sound”, but key to Boxed’s success
is the range of sounds found at the club night: you’re as likely to
hear peak-time anthems by Trends and Spooky as you are mediative
experiments by Sharp Veins. For the first 12” on the Boxed label, they
showcase the breadth of styles that the night represents. Slackk and
Dullah Beatz’ contemplative ‘Forest Walk’ is the polar opposite of
Lloyd SB’s stripped back banger ‘X Out’, while Trends’ monstrous ‘Old
Skool 2’ refix seems to share little join common with Spokes’ ‘Tragedy
in the Jasmine Garden’. But all have been road-tested at Boxed and
become crowd favourites - at both the club night and on this release,
they make perfect sense together.

I've been a massive fan of BFM (@bloodklartfiyahmandem) for quite some time now. It's a partnership between JFO (@manlikejfo) and Sativa (@sativasteppa). Both artists are very unique in their solo productions but when you bring them together something very special happens. 
It's a very rare sound the duo produce, like some mad hybrid of grime and dubstep, I rate it very highly. I've wanted to get them on board with @strictly140 for a while now and with Sativa already putting a free download out with us, and a few things already in the pipeline with JFO, it only seemed right that we put something out from BFM.

BFM were featured in one of Magnetic Magazines grime articles at the start of the year, here's what they had to say about their track "Wig Spit Riddim".

"BFM - Wig Split Riddim - BFM (Bloodklart Fiyah Mandem) is a partnership between two very well respected producers of Grime & Dubstep, JFO & Sativa. They both have unique styles when it comes to their own productions but bring them together and the outcome is quite special. BFM create spacious, stripped back grime. There is almost a deep dubstep influence to their productions, merge that with their skippy drum loops & reggae vocal samples and you’ve got a kind of dubstep infused grime sound that is incredibly rare but easily recognizable. Wig Split Riddim is exactly that, starting off with some low, soulful strings in the intro, then followed by their classic adlib just before the drop. Once the song has dropped the mixture of the low sub-heavy bassline and the high pitched synths really gives this tune levels. Be sure to check them out on soundcloud for any new music they might be releasing."
