I discovered Frankie Knuckles through his music, one that was, gentle, lush with a subdued, understated power that rocked many a dancefloor.
I had the privilege to hear him once in the heyday of his legendary residency at Sound Factory Bar in New York. I was submerged, sonically and emotionally by the beauty of the music I heard that night. I remember very clearly saying to myself that this would be impossible to ever equal.
That was 20 years ago, and I never got to hear this magic combination again.

I got to meet Frankie a few times, and he was always like his music, gentle, humble,   yet naturally imposing

I've put together here some of my favorite music from him. So that his legacy can keep on inspiring other people.

Rest in peace, Frankie, may your music keep on moving people eternally

Back again with Creekside Listening Club. Live every second Saturday of the month 8pm - 10pm on aaja radio.

This month is a folk special, packed full of beautiful folk songs, past and present, from around the British Isles and beyond.

I pre-recorded this as I was on holiday, so there is minimal chat. You can expect lots of harmonies, fiddles,  bodhráns and jigs. Sit back and enjoy a dreamy soundscape whilst you soak in the sunshine.

a new fresh funky band composed of two beatmakers and a keyboard player based in Rouen & Paris .
The concept of the band is to make new boogie tracks  and stylish soul songs composed  with loops , old vintage sounds ,  keys from the 70s and 80s  and guest vocals . On this first digital release they invite the incredible "Jawen" , a french soul singer. The 2 titles are from their forthcoming album, due for summer 2012.

Samanto Faxx is a dj and  producer of the Mc " L'executeur de Hong kong " , Florian Pellissier is the keys player for Setenta , Camarao Orkestra , and dj Julien Lebrun is the member of Hi Perspective and the "Hot Casa records" manager.

A third release with a hard afro flavor. The A-side features an uptempo gwoka drumtrack laden with acid kicks and hectic sound effects. Stripped down for maximum effect. B-side is a superheavy benga from Kenya, slightly shortened into a sexy burner. Both sides tested on massive soundsystems and dancefloor approved. Big sound !
