DJ Basic is now for more than 25 years behind the decks and thus a true scene soldier, who has been playing and making Drum&Bass known in the Rhineland from the very beginning. His DJ career began in 1994 in the Cologne-Bonn area and since 2015 he has also been successfully producing his own tracks. His first releases came out in 2017 on SRBE (Berlin), another 'We were in the Dark' followed on the Cologne label Storno Beats. At the beginning of 2019 another track on Hanzom Music (Cologne). His rolling basslines and deep, innovative sounds that mix old and new are very characteristic and are reflected in his own productions.
Kingsley Obeng aka Kingz lived in England from 1982 to 1996, witnessing the creation and development of Drum and Bass. His first production was with Nico from ‚No U turn records‘ in 1995, which encouraged him to buy his own sampler to produce himself. Numerous productions and MCing with Basswerk until 2002 followed. After a long break from the scene, a reunion with Heiner (TGM) for a release in 2016 developed into an album release in 2019. 
"Your special" with DJ Basic, follows a Collab release with DJ Basic and Nusonix "Dreams" also released on Deegree Recordings.  
Cool Running, with its somewhat dark structure, also encourages you to bounce and let yourself sink into the music between driving synth elements.

Soul Deep Exclusives and Soul Connection are proud to announce the release of the Ever Blazing EP, which is now available in all major stores and streaming sites.  In this soul-scorching journey, we dive into the world of Serbian producer extraordinaire, Soul Connection. The iconic producer is well known for his monumental releases on Soundtrax, Soul Deep, Smooth N Groove, Inform, Influenza, and many other highly respected labels.

	The Ever Blazing EP shows off the diversity of Soul Connection’s production abilities.  His iconic Liquid productions include many classics that have stood the difficult test of time.  He flashes his diversity on “Ever Blazing” and “Straight Dubbing”, with both tunes featuring driving drums, heavy basslines, dub-influenced soundscapes, all with a deep underlying tone that connects them back to his roots.  The edgy mid basslines in the songs are sure to please the dancefloor massive.  “I Want You To Stay”, flaunts Soul Connection’s ability to combine classic jungle drums and basslines with his floating synths and ethereal vocals.  “It’s Been A Long Time”, also takes on a more Jungle-style approach, with its choppy drums, bouncy baseline, and sweeping synths.

	Overall, Soul Connection has created more production magic for the fans of his music.  In the process, he’s added some new sound spectrums to his arsenal.   It’s time to sit back and enjoy the master at work.  Check out the blazing sounds!!

Introducing our new EP series 'Nuggets': Here at Goldfat we're always digging for gold, and for our first EP in the series we have unearthed four precious nuggets from four stellar artists.

Another Goldfat debut, this time from Counter Culture. Straight in with razor hats, a killer Rhodes loop and a clever vocal sample Counter Culture instantly summons up something comfortable from yesteryears yet still visceral. When it drops the drums step whilst the hats run to a warm contorting bass-line. This is the type of nugget a DJ should have in their artillery. Chunky!

Deegree Recordings was founded as a collective of 5 ambitioned DJs and producers. Between them, DJ Basic, Mendax, Marvel Cinema, Matt View and Philo have previously released on Technique, Fokuz, Grid Recordings and Soulvent before starting up their own label. The five talents can be found DJing, producing and hosting the monthly Deegree radio show on 674fm, hosted by DJ Basic and the Deegree Recordings Show on jungletrain.net every second wednesday from 10:30pm (CET ), hosted by Philo, and even launched their first club night with Hospital Records favourites Pola & Bryson and Whiney back in February 2020. 
Now a whole year deep into the game, Deegree Recordings is celebrating its first anniversary with a whopping ten-track compilation of new heaters from its founders and friends, aptly titled 1 YEAR DEEGREE RECORDINGS out on March 1.
