Somewhere between ecstatic sounds and bouncy baselines, this podcast is up to mischief. Melodic tracks from blues, pop and singer-songwriter meet driving basses and hard kicks of all generic types. And still, and probably because of this, the whole thing is a well-rounded affair.

✔️ What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?

I am influenced by the punk and metal/hardcore music of the 2000s - 2010s. Artists like Queens of the Stone Age and Placebo also had a psychedelic influence on me. I played Moby, Faithless and Pendulum CDs up and down. I listened to a lot of soul and pop in my environment. It felt like almost everyone around me used to make music. I went to open stages a lot. Once a month, I hosted a small stage at Brunnen70 for a short period of time and invited those same people. That shaped my understanding of the diversity of music, that good music has no genre boundaries. When choosing my tracks, I am attuned to 1 tempo, but I try to make the setlist dynamic.

✔️ What makes a good afterhour for you?

The people, the location and the music. Everything should happen harmoniously and without pressure. There is always a certain responsibility to check in with each other and see what the party needs. For me personally, freshly tapped beer is a hedonistic highlight for very special moments :)

One thing that happens when I don’t post shows very often is I end up with a bunch of good tunes that don’t make it onto the show because I know posting a 4 ½ hour show would be crazy! So here are some tunes I’ve been wanting to get on for a while. I had most of these when I put show 47 together so consider this an addition to show 47  

We kick things off with a nice set of broken beats, then move into some hip-hop tracks, then into a mix of some smooth, underground dance tunes. I usually record the mix separately, but this time I just did it on the fly. We close out with some downtempo soul. Enjoy…. And please share a link with your friends!

I recorded this mix a few weeks ago intending to use it as the DJ Mix in show 49. I decided that the playlist for the show wasn’t up to par, so I didn’t record the show (it’s coming soon, I’m re-working it now). However, this mix was a little too good to just sit on. daunbert treibt sich langsam - jedoch nicht auf zehenspitzen - rum. dabei versteckt sich das aufmerksame wesen auf guten raves, schlechten raves und zur zeit findet es gar keinen rave, um in der masse verschwinden zu können. hier und da gibt es lichtblicke: neue kollektive die für neue möglichkeiten sorgen, lösungen für neue situationen finden. jedoch gibt es nicht für all diese situationen spontane lösungen. was wir alle tun können, ist, die augen nicht zu verschließen vor geschehnissen, die schon lange ohne lichtblick im dunklen passieren.
