FUSE

Parasol is an Eora based producer and DJ whose primary interest is glittery, sparkly sounds on the verge of falling apart. Having got his start on community V/A project Mutants Mixtape, he released a collection of ringtone-inspired beatless trance works in late 2021 on local netlabel Midheaven. Though his musical obsession began with clean MIDI patterns and trance arpeggios, his recent sonic direction blends infectious supersaw melodies with static-infused and organic soundscapes that threaten to overwhelm you with emotion.

His beatless mix for Decay plays into precisely that timbral contradiction: crystalline, sterile and ‘perfect’ textures decaying over a bed of digital chaos. Parasol is currently working on a second full-length LP set to be completed later in 2023.
