The Nasty But Attractive EP originally circulated as a single, hand-penned CD-R that was burned for the club and then mistakenly donated to the Vilnius branch of Humana. Several months later, the tracks found their way back to DJ JM, when he uncovered the CD down the side of a sofa at an afterparty in Copenhagen. Vowing never to make the same mistake, JM is now sharing these six rave-drum slappers with all MP3 enthusiasts.

These tracks are like your rave crew: charming, disorientating and pinging off the walls with industrial strength giddiness. They’ve got a screw loose. Bit of an edge. Not always making wise decisions. Never offering the most sensible guidance. But listen to them anyway, because they’re looking out for you when it counts.
When you’ve spent a little too long melting into the couch in the chill out room, these tracks will drag you up for a solid stomp before kicking out time. They’ll slip you a bump when you’re flagging. Arms round your shoulders at the peak, a nod and a smile to check in when you’re zoning. Trust in them, trust in the drum.

DJ JM’s journey through the evolving landscapes of the European club scene paints a vivid picture of a dedicated artist continuously reinventing his sound and pushing boundaries. Originating from Vilnius, Lithuania,
and making a significant impact on the UK’s percussive club scene, JM quickly became a noteworthy figure in the late 2010s. His collaborations with notable names like TSVI, Wallwork, and NKC in London were instrumental in establishing his reputation. Known for his adeptness at creating rhythmically intricate and sample-rich tracks, DJ JM’s releases on labels like Even The Strong, Goon Club Allstars, Nervous Horizon, and his self-released EPs showcased his unique approach to music production.
In 2020, JM relocated from Copenhagen to Brussels, where he found a solid footing in the city’s vibrant underground scene. His involvement with Kiosk Radio and collaboration with Le Motel on an EP for Maloca
Records allowed him to explore a more melodic, bass-heavy sound. Since the implosion of the percussive scene, JM’s DJ sets and radio shows remained a testament to his prolific nature, consistently featuring a
fresh array of his own productions alongside eclectic house and electro selections.
In late 2022, JM returned to Copenhagen with a renewed sense of purpose and a disciplined approach to his craft. Embracing self-imposed creative limitations, JM’s “Abnormal,” project was born through Nervous
Horizon, which encapsulated his focused and raw energy. The past year in Copenhagen further fueled JM’s inspiration, particularly through playing at various parties and radios around the city. This experience led him
to focus on creating highly functional and groovy tracks, resulting in the “Barrakuda” EP. This latest release highlights JM’s ability to craft dancefloor-ready music that remains innovative and engaging, cementing his status as a dynamic and forward-thinking producer in the electronic music scene.
