Tanya Saint-Val est une chanteuse française, née le 15 décembre 1965 à 
Basse-Terre sur l'île de Guadeloupe.

Tanya Saint-Val a toujours évolué dans le monde de la musique : très tôt, elle imite les variations de voix de sa grand-mère, chantant de l'opérette. Dès l'âge de neuf ans, elle enregistre un album de musique traditionnelle avec son père, guitariste, chanteur et compositeur professionnel. 

Après un passage chez Les Vikings de la Guadeloupe, elle entre dans l'orchestre de Daniel Forrestal. Elle y rencontre Dominique Zorobabel, une des futures chanteuses de Zouk Machine. Elle continue à chanter les chansons de la grande Ella Fitzgerald dans les fêtes communales et les bals de Guadeloupe. Elle rencontre ensuite Pierre-Édouard Décimus, manager du groupe Kassav, qui lui fait découvrir les studios d'enregistrements, là où elle exerce rapidement et souvent ses talents de choriste. À ce moment elle rencontre Willy Salzedo qui deviendra le réalisateur, arrangeur et compositeur de tous ses albums de 1986 à 1995. Elle lui doit des chansons comme Météw cool, Chalè, Carole, Zouk a gogo, Tropical... pour ne citer que ceux-là........
