It’s hard to think of a faster rising name in Spanish electronic music than GAZZI. After a summer spent criss-crossing Spain DJing in clubs and festivals - including a memorable opening set at SonarLab by Resident Advisor - the Andulasian is set to drop a new EP, CUTE, at the end of October. 

It’s the latest in a string of self-released tracks and EPs from the producer, who only began his career in earnest during the 2020 lockdowns. Across six tracks, GAZZI flickers from dancefloor to headphone listening. Cut-up vocals - a nod to his UK influences - and snippets of field recordings lend the producer’s languid, shuffling electronica an intimate touch.

Ahead of the release of ‘CUTE’, Sónar is happy to premiere ‘Press’ featuring Barcelona’s DJ COLL, co-founder of Noise Pollution Recordings. It’s a dreamy slice of dancefloor romantica, a pumping house beat dropping in and out over lush pads and fleeting snatches of voices. 

CUTE will be self-released by GAZZI on 22/07 via the producer’s Bandcamp.

@deejaycoll is a producer and DJ from Melilla, based in Barcelona. He is part of the founding core of Noise Pollution Recordings. His productions move between garage, two-step, UK techno, and progressive house, with elements of dub, acid, and bass music in general. Having released several singles and an EP on the label, this latest single, “Champion Sound,” presents a sound that oscillates between his old and new productions—a hybrid where several of the above-mentioned genres come together, always with a lot of groove.
