It's been a long time since we've been able to dance together. 
It was an honor to play out on a stacked PK system tucked between snow capped peaks on a gorgeous river. Thanks to Simon for the booking and for tirelessly putting in the effort to make this event happen.  

I had the privilege of playing right as darkness set in, so I felt it was a great chance to rinse out some bassy tunes.  This set should make your subwoofer sweat a little bit.

It was also awesome to share the booth with Widow, Abstract Sonance, and Mystic State (and many others!). Three artists whose music I really dig these days.

Afterlife Liveset 08-21-2021

What a fun night bridging the connection from some tech house into some bass flavors. It's always a pleasure to play out on a PK soundsystem that can really flex those low frequencies.  Wasn't too sure what I'd play tonight, and it felt great. Some new tunes I've acquired and some old classics!

Feelgood's 36th Spin Around the Sun

I was recently booked to rinse out some house and breaks for the Juicebox Crew at a party deep within a gorgeous mountain valley. I only was able to stay for a day but I had an amazing time. Such a rad group of people and an incredibly curated experience. Thank you for the booking!

Liveset: Juicebox: Quest for the Jackalope

Hygge is a Danish and Norwegian word that describes a mood of being cozy and content with the simple things of life.  I whipped this set together impulsively on a frosty Saturday morning. Channeling the feeling of a cozy coffee shop on a rainy night, or a warm meal on a cold night. 

Lots of chilled out drum and bass, jazzy and Motown elements  come together in this set. I'm happy with how this came out as it was entirely unplanned, which in my humble opinion is the most enjoyable way to play.  Lean into what feels good and see what happens.

Feelgood's Exceptionally Hygge Set

I decided to stitch together some of my recent favorites on a whim the other day. Playing whatever felt good and testing out a few mix techniques. The result was set I really enjoyed.  A mix of techno, breaks, dnb and halftime come together in this set. Fresh releases from @akuratyde / @modernconveniences  along with some of recent favorites from @skeemask-music

Due to all of the top tier 'audiophile' tracks in this one, I reached out to my buddy @nikosound to apply his mastering treatment to preserve the nuance of these great tracks.  Be sure to check out his stuff on soundcloud.

Feelgood's Archetypal Bassy Set

Feeling nostalgic the other day, I dusted off some of the more subtle 4/4 tracks in my collection.  Genres such as dub techno/minimal will always have a soft spot in my heart.  Maintaining a steady energy that takes the listener inward seems to the be goal here.  Beautiful, subtly nuanced tracks, with a couple mellow peaks for contrast result in a vibe I am incredibly happy with.  This set is best served as a background to your workday, a late night drive,  or lying in the grass staring at the clouds. I close off this set with one of my favorite bits of narration of all time. Carl Sagan's 'you are here'- an eloquent summary of our existence.

Live set: Horizontology November 2023

It's funny, my best sets come from when I feel unsettled. For as long as I can remember, music has been the best way for me to channel my feelings into an outlet. Of all the sets I have on here, the best ones were all made during a point of self reflection. 

This one is no different. I couldn't sleep tonight, as my mind was restless with the going ons in my life. I channeled that restlessness into this set, and result is something I'm very happy with. 

Lots of subtle melodic stuff in here, and some experimental stuff.  I didn't do much mixing or blending, it's more a playlist of some incredible tracks from many of my favorite artists.

Playing 2pm on Sunday is an interesting slot as most people are just getting their day going after staying up until the wee hours of the morning. Goal here was to inject some uplifting energy through some vocal dnb.  I had the privilege of playing on Mindgarden's glorious Void rig, so I went for tracks that would take advantage of this. In the middle of an introspective mix session decided to hit record. This set is more a mood than anything else, nothing really planned. Just going through flow state in how I was feeling at the time. Long drawn out subtle blends and lots of space to let tracks breathe. Some dubby techno and texture into some minimal, into some more esoteric sounds.  I feel like this set will sit nicely in the background of whatever it is you're doing.

Feelgoods Syncopated Exploration

Setting the stage for a night of broad spectrum sound culture music, I wanted to get the gradually building floor feeling warm as they transitioned into the night.  Kept it rhythmic and pitched down a little bit to leave headroom for the next performers. I tossed a bunch of deeper tunes into the 'crate' for this one and was happy with how it came out.

From here the night built beautifully and was one for the books.

Live Set: Soundculture Showcase Ft 40hz Soundsystem/ w Michael Red, XLBB, Frumlater

I was invited for a guest mix on Vancouver's Art of Beatz radio show on 100.5 FM. One of the oldest running shows in the area (20 years+) I was told I had carte blanche on what to submit. Decided to rinse out some flavours that have been captivating me recently. Moving from more downtempo vibes into percussive mid tempo breakbeat and finally into some more driving dnb/halftime'ish stuff.  It finishes strong. I was working three decks for this one trying to hang on to certain tracks/loops a bit longer than normal. There are some things I really liked and some things that I would do differently. Either way, pleasantly happy with this one.

Sounds from @djrum @tellusdnb @paradox-music-uk @joy-orbison @arcane-scmusic are the standouts for me on this one.

Guest Radio Mix: Art of Beatz  January 31 2025

I was invited to submit a guest mix for Vancouver's Acceleration Radio.  They've been showcasing some cool underground sounds for awhile now.  I threw together some of the sounds that I've recently acquired that have captivated me lately.  Broken beat, percussive focus with some warm low end. I was working three decks here and having fun will having some lingering textures

Acceleration Radio Guestmix- Feelgood March 27th 2025

Here's my opening set for Obscurus. Started off with a cold floor and brought up the energy in time for Daega Sound.  Bit of everything in this set  while keeping it pretty dub focused. Dropped the tempo across everything to keep the energy in check for the next performer.  I'm still getting a handle on working 3 decks regularly, sometimes keeping things a little too busy IMO, however it gets better and better every time. 

The night went flawlessly with great sets from Daega Sound, Jonah K and Biishop to close things out. Crowd was incredible and engaged.

Opening set Obscurus: Jonah K, Daega Sound, Biishop, Feelgood

Into the depths of the dark season here in the PNW.   Reminiscing on summer days that seem like eons ago.  This is an excerpt from a 3hr mix session I had last week that I particularly liked. Unplanned, just leaning into a  vibe.  

Perfect for a listen in the background while cooking in the kitchen or hanging by the fireplace.  Smooth vocals,  subtle liquid atmospheric vibes.   Also,  Vol 2 infers the existence of a Vol 1. Here's a similar vibe from three years ago.

Feelgood Exceptionally Hygge Set Vol.2

Big changes, restlessness and uncertainly dictate this set. Lots of cool melodies and lots of haunting vocals.  I'll be relocating across the continent in a couple months and am looking forward to all the adventures that come along.  I am hoping to establish myself as a DJ in the Vancouver area and try to get something going event wise.

I am very happy with how this one worked out.  Lots of vocals  and some really cool sounds and textures. It's been awhile since I've put together a tech house set. This one should be a good crowdpleaser as it isn't too experimental., with all that wholesome Feelgood melancholy. ;)

Feelgood's Stay Clear of the Leshen Set

Wow this night ended up beyond my wildest expectations. I had about 3 hours of chilled out deep dub and atmospheric tunes lined up, but then our art install filled up with 20-30 people who were ready to dance! I switched gears and went into full DnB mode...mixing tunes I've never mixed together before and throwing in some classics. People were dancing their asses off and having a blast. Thanks so so much for coming out. It makes all the sweat, stress and labour worth it. I'll add a tracklist shortly.

Parade of Lost Souls Liveset

The world is falling apart. Pandemics. Global warming. Trump. The only thing we can safely rely on right now is good progressive house and techno. So this is my contribution. I would describe this as 'Feelgood's classic brand of Techy-progressive
house that I've played for years. Some old tracks in here, some new ones, and some unreleased by my favorite artists. This was off the cuff set on a quiet chilly Thursday night in Vancouver at Resurrection Distillery. The event was in support of the Really Lost Penguins.

Hi, I've been DJ'ng between Ontario and BC since 2004. Over this time I've held various residencies in Ontario as well as organizing and promoting events under the brand "Release"

In Vancouver,  I am a proud supporter of our local underground music scene and am actively seeking opportunities to assist with production and participation.  

My early days were rooted in early 2000's progressive house/breaks. While in the last decade my flavors have shifted towards more bass focused and syncopated styles. I am a strong proponent of sound system culture and the genres that support it.
