Classic 70s Soul Mix - Jack Tennis Old School Lounge Mix (FVUK Chillout Guestmix Series)

Welcome to the Word Is Love Show and in this show we explore the boogie of New York's Studio 54 going on a journey through 70's and 80's New York Disco.

Covering Disco, Funk, Rare Groove, House, Latin and Soul, there's a toe tapping and booty shaking range of tracks to listen to.

Expect classic tracks by The Bee Gee's, Chic, Chaka Khan and Diana Ross plus a bunch of tracks you may have never heard before that were played down at the club.

To describe the Hedonism of this legendary 70's New York hot spot here is an article by The Independant:

'"People were tired of being serious," one regular to Studio 54 reflects in a landmark new documentary of the same name about the infamous NYC disco nightclub. The epicentre of ’70s hedonism in the post-Watergate era, it was a magnet for beautiful stars, casual sex, and mounds of cocaine. A den of excess that defined its own rules and enshrined the ostracised, queer, and fabulous.

Studio 54 was a place where people could rub shoulders (and probably more) with the rich and famous, the club's ethos being that money didn't matter but personality, outlook, style and - above all - enthusiasm for life did.  Andy Warhol, Liza Minnelli, Elizabeth Taylor, Debbie Harry, Grace Jones, Michael Jackson, Calvin Klein, Elton John, Rick James, Truman Capote, Freddie Mercury, Ric Flair, Lou Reed, Al Pacino, Cher, David Bowie, Salvador Dalí, Robin Williams and Jackie Kennedy Onassis were all regulars, and that doesn't even put a dent in the list.'

The mix has been put together in a raw 'Shooting from The Hip' style of cut mixing and blend mixing to give it that authentic New York Loft Party feel that was synonymous of the time.

Dj HcuE, a fait ses débuts en tant que rappeur au sein du groupe KU2H.
Son attirance pour le Hip Hop n’a pas de limite et fréquentant cet environnement artistique très riche il trouva son équilibre dans l’art du deejing qui lui permet de faire émerger ses grandes qualités techniques.
Il multiplie les prestations à Paris et il a l’occasion de mixer avec les plus grand. Dj HcuE marque les esprits par son mix. Il se dénote par sa sensibilité et sa capacité à envoûter son public. Cet ambianceur né est un Dj de talent !
Ses qualités techniques ont en 2005 séduit les membres d’un groupe encore peu connu à l’époque mais qui allait très vite devenir le groupe numéro 1 SEXION d’ASSAUT. L’esprit « Real Hip Hop » et la dextérité textuelle de ce groupe correspondent parfaitement à l’état d’esprit de Dj HCue. Il en devient le Dj Officiel .
2010 sera l’année de la consécration tant pour la Sexion d’Assaut que pour Dj HCue, des concerts à guichets fermés, des after shows dans les clubs les plus prestigieux de l’hexagone. Et ce n’est que le début…

Dj HcuE, made his debut as a rapper in a group called KU2H.
His attirance for Hip Hop has no limit and he lives in this incredible and creativ culture.He found his balance in the art of deejing that it be able to show his great skills.
 He multiplied his shows Paris and had the great opportunity to play with the greatest djs in France. Dj HcuE has created his own style of mixing, with his sensibility and his way to make dance the public. He is a real entertainer!
In 2005 his great dj skills attracted the attention the members of a group not famous at this time but they going to become the number One french rap group SEXION d’ASSAUT. The« Real Hip Hop » spirit and the lyricist dexterity are perfectly connected to Dj HCue’s mind. He became their official DJ .
2010 was the year of consecration for Sexion d’Assaut also for Dj HCue, concerts of their tour was sold out, after shows in most famous club in France. It’s only the beginning…
