After playing a jungle set at an open decks night in August 2022, ZARA (aka Hayley Jenkinson) has taken the local scene by storm
 
She enjoys being able to mix various genres, loves a high energy set at 2am, but also appreciates being versatile with her mixing and showcasing other genres she can play
 
Although primarily playing club shows she has played larger scale events such as Mayhem Caged at Ngaio Marsh Theatre, and Rolling Meadows music festival.
 
We cannot wait to see what the rest of 2024 has in store for her!

AOTEAROA SUMMER MIX SERIES - ZARA

We kick off 2017 with a fresh mix from Leeds local talent Cruk, who joins Dispatch for his debut release next month, entitled “Bad Faith EP”. His superb production skills have been honed over the past few years and we’re excited to show you what he’s got in store. 

The mix featuring all four tracks from his EP, remaining dark and rolling throughout, with music from some of our favourite artists both on and off the label mixed in with his own releases and a few unknown tracks for good measure.  

Set for release in early February, pre-orders for Cruk’s debut EP will be on the Dispatch web store and Bandcamp very soon – in the meantime, we hope you enjoy the mix and the clips from the EP.

"He is best known for his work with Ed Rush, fellow head of the Virus Recordings label, and as a pioneer of the techstep and neurofunk sound. His first single for Metalheadz, 'To Shape the Future'/'Raging Calm' (1997) and his collaborative material with Ed Rush, such as the Wormhole, album (1998) were archetypal developments in the style. The duo followed this debut album with The Creeps (2000) and The Original Doctor Shade (2003), as well as countless singles and remixes. More recently, the duo have returned to form with their (2009) LP 'Travel The Galaxy' containing the modern classic 'Chubrub' and 'No Cure' LP in 2015."

"He also notably did all of the engineering and production work for Grooverider's album Mysteries of Funk, and work on Goldie's 'Saturns Return' LP.
