Azumai has been a staple of line ups across Japan, helping to grow its electronic music culture as well as the hold drum & bass has on cities like Tokyo. With support from some of its most notable figures, such as DJ AKi, he’s moving overseas into the discography of ProgRAM, first making an appearance alongside Mountain and Maozon. This time he moves under the RAM and ProgRAM banner for a brand new EP, featuring four fresh self standing deliveries.

'Festima' is named after the masks and arts festival in Burkina Faso, an event which Azumai witnessed as a child through films and with sounds which he felt fit with the EP’s sonic structuring. Incredibly intricate shifting layers of percussion characterize opener ‘Ah Eh’, with ‘BOI’ alongside its keyed sequences and ‘Festima’ following next through its atmospheric samples and 4/4 structure. ‘Frog Theory’ presents itself last, featuring shuffling breaks and grumbling basslines. So once again, it’s time to get with the ProgRAM. Spearheading the rise of another great production talent.

Following on from strong support of the first sampler, Break teams up with legendary vocalist Singing Fats for this second taste of the Simpler Times album. 
An upbeat summery reggae intro laced with soulful and conscious vocals from Fats leads you into a devastating and heavyweight drop. Jungle inspired drum break switches and massive sub bass tones deliver full impact; as the catchy Fats vocal states “It's the bass that's driving you crazy”. The dub version exclusive to Digital Download extends the moreish reggae intro to a full laid back dub groove.

The flip side is a fresh solo cut from Break. An uplifting synth and piano hook in the intro builds the pressure for a full on gritty and stepping drop. Tough live but studio refined beats lash down congealed with an almost over the top amount of distorted pumping bass. Punchy tom drum fills whip you back in for another time around. This one's a definite club stomper.

 This exclusive B side will not be included on the full album.

"He is best known for his work with Ed Rush, fellow head of the Virus Recordings label, and as a pioneer of the techstep and neurofunk sound. His first single for Metalheadz, 'To Shape the Future'/'Raging Calm' (1997) and his collaborative material with Ed Rush, such as the Wormhole, album (1998) were archetypal developments in the style. The duo followed this debut album with The Creeps (2000) and The Original Doctor Shade (2003), as well as countless singles and remixes. More recently, the duo have returned to form with their (2009) LP 'Travel The Galaxy' containing the modern classic 'Chubrub' and 'No Cure' LP in 2015."

"He also notably did all of the engineering and production work for Grooverider's album Mysteries of Funk, and work on Goldie's 'Saturns Return' LP. In addition, he has produced solo for many labels including Virus, Metalheadz, Prototype, 31 Records, Metro and released in collaboration with many artists, including Ed Rush, Trace, Dom and Roland, Fierce, and his brother Matrix.
