Live @ Block (TelAviv) - Profound Sounds 03.30.15

.. It started early one afternoon in central park after attending one of the legendary Jester raves under the Brooklyn Bridge.   “A group of us were enjoying a perfect spring afternoon in the warm afterglow you used to get after dancing all night and having an out of this world experience. Then literally, out of nowhere, a pile of cassette tapes appeared in the middle of our circle after sitting there for about 4 or 5 hours...  and no one noticed them or knew how they got there..”  

After returning home and quickly discarding the most of them, he played the 8th one and it proved to be one those moments that changed his life. 
The piece was the Irresistible Force, the cut was Flying High , and  the tail end the voice was the late Terence Mckenna talking about the most potent hallucinogen in the world, DMT.
1 year later Reno backpacked across the Yukatan peninsula to join Mckenna, Dr. Sahsha and Ann Shulgen, Johnathan Ott and others at an hand selected exclusive retreat with the MAPS organization. ‘I traveled to places that were unknown and yet strangely familiar and came closer to anything I could consider god-like. I broke through with ancient spirits and was touched by something eternal, I never saw life the same again.’ 

It was there in the Mayan ruins that he realized then he wanted to express these experiences through sound. 

Immediately after returning home, heavily influenced by the early 90’s ambient house scene out of England driven by The Orb, Future Sound of London and classic Ambient Artists like Brian Eno, in the basement of the apartment the boys brought over their gear and the group Synesthesia was born.  The group played on and off together with the 3 main members revolving, Alex A>K>A> Adrock, AMborhski, And Reno became an intricate part of the underground music scene in Philadelphia for over a decade with live PA's, and legendary parties such as Afterworld, Lucid and many others.
