Basic Moves founder Walrus joins us on the podcast this week. Active as both a DJ and producer for well over a decade, Michiel's also been putting on some of Brussel’s finest parties in recent years, under both his label's banner and a new series called Beautiful Freaks, which he runs alongside Pinguin Society Collective and many other friends.  

Quality and warmth ooze from everything he’s involved in, reflecting an all-round lovely human. DIM322 is no different, a hazy journey through soft breaks, earworm electro, housey goodness and more. We’re very excited to welcome him for a Dimensions this summer.

Thomas Gram delivers an introspective and daring mix, a sonic journey shaped by 20 years of musical exploration. Moving fluidly between ambient, techno, breakbeat, dubstep, and jungle, the set unfolds like a living collage. Despite its wide scope, it maintains a sense of balance throughout, held together by a delicate blend of organic textures and electronic depth.

The mix dives into lower tempos and sub-layered atmospheres, pulling the listener into a shadowy, almost subterranean world. Shifting rhythms and evolving structures invite a focused, embodied listening experience, one that challenges without ever losing its emotional thread.
Refined through 21 iterations, this is a deeply personal selection that reveals Thomas Gram’s uncompromising approach and passion for experimentation. It stands as a tribute to the vast spectrum of underground sound that has shaped his path and an invitation to experience that legacy through his ears.

The Basic Moves Of … islas

Attention music lovers ! This is an ultra ultra special mix, since it is the long-awaited islas Basic Moves podcast. Ailsa Cavers aka islas and I started and ran the record label and club nights together for the first four years. As time takes things and things take time (and life rolls on (and off) and on) our paths have brought us back to sharing friendship, culture, and music again :)

islas also Ailsa is a creative centipede roaming the fields of art, design, music, literature and so much more. Originally from Reading (UK) but relocated to Bordeaux (FR) in the early 2000s where she studied at Ecole Des Beaux Arts before landing in what is now her hometown, Brussels (BE). Together with a bunch of like-minded souls she started the electronic music collective Planet, ran a music pop-up called OP-a with her bff Dana Kuehr…overall islas is a busy, gifted artistic bee that never stings.

Sooo to the music: 2 years in the making, this mix is a story of carefully selected, funny and open-minded club music dug up in the garden of electro house, quirky tech house, Detroit techno, and millennium minimal. All with an islas twist and topped with an English, French and Belgian sauce. Praise the lovely, steezy Ailsa alias islas forever !

This mix was born unplanned, on a quiet Sunday morning in Berlin.
 Records pulled at random from the shelves, chosen only by the mood 
of the moment, shaped this musical journey.
Just two turntables and my Taula mixer...

...and a feeling of an ongoing trip—whether a forest walk, a car ride, 
or a plane flight...



With no intention to publish it, quite a  few heartfelt 
and encouraging words from friends 
inspired me to share this recording.
