I am the grandchild who lays fresh flowers on the Boer graves at St Helena and the Bahamas, who sees in the mind's eye and suffers the suffering of a simple peasant folk, death, concentration camps, destroyed homesteads, a dream in ruins. I am the child of Nongqause. I am he who made it possible to trade in the world markets in diamonds, in gold, in the same food for which my stomach yearns. I come of those who were transported from India and China, whose being resided in the fact, solely, that they were able to provide physical labour, who taught me that we could both be at home and be foreign, who taught me that human existence itself demanded that freedom was a necessary condition for that human existence. "Cumbia Lobina" is about this very moment; when you've just spent the whole night talking and drinking "viche" with your friends in the patio. Time has stopped, and you hear the first bird singing in the early morning. This bird will bring you back to reality, and you'll remember about all that makes your daily self, as opposed to who you are in the night time, and how time goes by so differently in the daylight.

Multi-instrumentalist Dragao, producer and composer, is one of the most gifted musicians from the emerging Colombian melting pot.
He played the keyboards in numerous bands such as Papaya Republik, that he founded and 2009, or La Makina Del Karibe.

His new “Camino” project, released on Galletas Calientes Records, is an exploration of his Afro-Colombian roots, fusing traditional  sounds of the Pacific, Atlantic Coast, and the Llanos, with a reggae influenced dub technique, Incorporating guitars and keys of his own. 
The great Cumbia Lobina, featuring renowned singer Nidia Gongora is an homage to the Pacific coast of Colombia, while Dub Aguila and the voices of Macky Ruff of Cumbia Rockers All Stars and Javier Fonseca of Alerta Kamarada takes us to a cumbia-reggae party. Other great songs like Agua incorporates elements of dub, cumbia and the accordion of vallenato from the south-eastern prairies of the country.

A innovative approach to reggae music. A truly unique fusion of genres.

From Tumaco, Colombia, Plu Con Pla fuses traditional rhythms from the Pacific coast of Colombia such as Currulao and Bunde, with reggae, hip-hop, and subtle electronic beats.

Plu Con Pla is an eleven piece band that brings together two distinct musical concepts, creating something we’ve never heard before.  
On front of the stage, a complete Currulao section sets the vibe with a powerful vocal combo, traditional instruments from the pacific coast of Colombia (bombo, cununo, marimba), and elements of West African origins (Ngoni, Djembe). They are joined by the force of a full reggae ensemble of drums, guitar, bass and keyboards.

The group takes its name from a traditional dish from Tumaco. “Plu” stands for Plumuda, a local fish, and “Pla” is short for “Platano”, the plantain you’ll have on your plate nearly every time you eat lunch in Colombia.

The title of their first EP, “No Mas Velorio”, speaks for itself: “No More Funerals”, sending a powerful message about how the region suffered from the civil war. “We ask forgiveness for whatever it is we’ve done, and we’ll live in the clouds, that way we won’t hurt anyone. We worked this soil, it was our land, but we’ll leave it to you, because we don’t want any more funerals…”

Agencia Sonora is a new transcontinental project between MC Ruso (ex "Hechos Contra El Decoro") from Madrid actually living in Brooklyn-New York and DJ Makala from Zarautz, Basque Country. At the moment, project has released just one song called “Cumbia Jungla Sonora”, which appeared few years ago on “Global Bass Vol. 3″ compilation (UrbanWorld Records © 2012) and has been recently included on Makala's new album "Global Funk Remixes 2004-2014" (Orrua Diskak © 2015).
