Drawing from one of Vangelis' most renowned soundtracks, Solarstone has rebooted the theme from the audio auteur's hallowed 'Blade Runner' soundtrack. He has brought trance purity to the beautifully sinister tones of its title theme. Utilizing it as a last tune of the night ID-weapon for many a month, the track (now christened 'Love Theme from Blade Runner') has been given the official seal of approval. The trance master is now set to release his love letter to 'Blade Runner'.

Losing none of its ominous awe-inspiring atmosfear, through Solarstone's 'Love Theme From Blade Runner' Vangelis' now exerts a hypnotic thrall over the club floor. Using the classic strains of 'End Titles', Richard fires the Original's balanced nexus of dystopian melancholia and towering elevation through the Pure prism.

Developing a pounding sonic underlay, built from pistoning drums, dramatic orchestral cymbal crashes and undulating bass swells, he sets the stage for its big dramatic soundscapes. Retrofitting Vangelis' analogue synthesizers & FX with purified trance mechanics and unrelenting tension, he filters its darkly timeless melodic chimes into the mix's system. Brilliantly drawn out over nine fissionable, charged minutes he points Vangelis' 30-year-old classic at the very heart of the club floor.

"Nothing Organic" is a fun track to re-release from my Kadeshavara days, before I rebranded back to JPS Grooves. This track fits so well though, for the Infinity Triplets to play, that I had to remaster it and put it on this album/game. The guitar is present with some heavy power chords, but outside that, this track ebbs and flows through the arpeggiated synth philosophy that makes up this album. After some squishes and squashes, the track begins to build until it's right up in front of you. Yet, the track is surprisingly subtle, which is what I like most about it. When choosing the correct answer on a math game, you're gonna need a consistent beat, and when playing SnowCone MathFest, you're gonna need a consistent tone; this song added to this consistency. Staying until the very end? Be prepared to get arpeggiated into the stratosphere!

This is a personal mix I made for my live sets. I've been playing this for a long time and the reaction is always epic. This is why it's time for me to share it with you.  Enjoy.

Dee Montero is a lifer. He’s the former Mambo Ibiza resident who at the end of 2017 received Pete Tong’s Essential Tune Of The Year on BBC Radio One for the string-fuelled, epic end-of-nighter ‘Halcyon’, originally released on Solomun’s acclaimed Diynamic imprint. And he’s been busy ever since with various eps including ‘Pangaea’ on Knee Deep In Sound, ‘Shadows’ on All Day I Dream and also the scintillating ‘In The Wild’ and ‘Headspace’ featuring Meliha on Anjunadeep.

From Asia to America and everywhere in between it’s all been about the music for Dee. Performances in Australia, India and Dubai have been interspersed with US tours and appearances at Burning Man on the Robot Heart and Carl Cox Playground stages as well as summer shows in Ibiza including Hï with Joris Voorn and Nic Fanciulli.

In 2020 Dee launched his own imprint Futurescope bringing in fellow musical alchemists Patrice Baumel, Fort Romeau and Lauer for remix duties. He unleashed his diverse 12 track artist album ‘Artifacts’ to the world in 2022 playing to those deft melodic touches, twinkling synths and positive peaks. ‘Maya’, the standout track from the LP and a homage to Future Sound Of London’s ‘Papua New Guinea’ got a special rework from mastermind Rodriguez Jr. pushing the release to even bigger, higher heights. 

As well as forthcoming eps on Nora En Pure’s Purified label later this year Dee’s next single ‘Freedom’ on Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound will continue the upward electronic pressure into summer 2023. These are exciting times for an artist with Dee’s attention to detail and there are so many sonic terrains still left to discover…
