David Paglia's love for music includes a well diversified palette of styles such as Jazz, Soul, Funk, and Disco. All serve as inspiration to his productions spanning underground house through techno and remixes/edits of dance music tunes. A very strong influence was garnered from his grandfather whom was a leader of a Big band/Jazz ensemble playing Clarinet and Alto Saxophone. This and early journeys into the nightlife scene steered David's passion for music towards DJ/Production. When performing he feels music selection for the situation is paramount with technical mixing skills adding the special touch that keeps listeners drawn into the musical journey.

David Paglia has releases on Soul Clap Records and Cenote Records. A vinyl press with Jay Prouty, Dojo Sessions Volume 1, has been flying off racks at Halcyon Record Shop in Brooklyn and Love Vinyl in London, UK. Productions have received support from Will Martin (Dolly, Supply Records), Eli Goldstein (Soul Clap), Moodyman, and The Juan Maclean in his recent mix for Defected Radio. DJ gigs include Boston with Community Links, Veritae, Re:Set, Vibe Syndicate, DOTC, Some Like It Hott and gigs in Brooklyn including TBA Brooklyn, Homage/Max Cellar, and Come Get Some/Bossa Nova. A highlight to DJ gigs included an invitation by Danny Tenaglia to play his Vinyl Reunion at the Panther Room (Output) in New York City.

Starting out as a simple re-edit series, Adesse Versions aka Kevin Gorman has reformulated his humble ambitions into a few white label releases. Adopting a typical cut and paste ethos to house music, Adesse Versions curates a theme that exemplifies roughness and raw emotion.

Known for his production of tracks such as Baayi, Pressured and Modall, his music has found its way into the hands of icons such as Derrick May, Larry Heard and Gilles Peterson. Major record companies have also taken notice, resulting in a remix of Henry Krinkle for Sony. Along with his deep root in house-oriented work, he runs as a former mainstay of the techno world. His music graced labels such as Curle, Ostgut Ton and his own imprint Mikrowave.

As one of the few artists to now be featured twice on our podcast series, we happily welcome back MANIK.

The diverse sound pf MANIK is somewhere between classic house, groovy techno, acid, and a bit of funk & disco, originaly bursting onto the scene back in 2011 with releases on Ovum, Poker Flat, Hot Creations and LA based Culprit, while now having played at the likes of Panorama Bar Berlin, Womb Tokyo, Fabric London, Smartbar Chicago, and more than 100 more cities worldwide.

Now, having recently relocated from New York to Los Angeles, the sounds of MANIK can be found in the crates of the worlds leading underground DJs and tastemakers; Ellen Allien, Josh Wink, Steve Lawler, Doc Martin, Steve Bug, Heidi and many more. With a full album coming in 2017, plus new EP's on VIVa Music and BPitch Control, there are no signs of slowing down.

Though he now lives in Ibiza, Stephane Ghenacia has close ties to us in London. It was here that he first visited the disco over 10 years ago, and after moving to the city permanently in 2010 he became a frequent visitor to Farringdon almost every Saturday night.

At the same time he was playing as a DJ, co-founding his own party series in Hackney Wick under the name Colors. Once the party spawned its own label, he even named one of his tracks after the thriving creative area. 

Ghenacia became well-known for his DJ sets across the East end of the city, and more recently he’s also become something of a regular fixture on our Saturday night programming in the club. 

In the last month been working with Kerri Chandler with a remix of his classic 'Six Pianos', but he still found the time to record a mix for us ahead of his return to the club this weekend. Drawing seductive house weapons with sharp snares and rolling bass lines, Ghenacia’s mix recalls a sound a sound we expect will complement Chicago pioneer Derrick Carter perfectly this weekend.

Christophe​ Salin​ is a music enthusiast - a producer, music collector, DJ and equipment lover based in Lübeck/Germany. Together with his wife, Daria Salin, he runs Salin Records​, as a platform for art and electronic music.

Christophe is a house music lover all through. Jazz and disco have a deep influence on his work.
Having his teens in the early 2000s he is also touched by the hypnotic-loop-orientated music from back in those days.

“You need to know the roots to know where to go” - Christophe took his time to know the roots of music and music production. He took this knowledge, mixed it up with his stories and emotions and created his versatile music styles. In 2018​ he released a three EP series​ (​“Sweet Memories EP”​, “Here And Now EP”​, “Will You Be There EP”) ​on Salin Records. This way he established the label and paved the way for future Salin Records artists. Christophe's tracks and mixes have the claim to take you on a journey and to get lost in the moment. As his tracks and mixes are honestly and from the bottom of his heart he is able to take you there. Christophe can’t imagine living without music and there are a lot of projects and ideas he’s working on as an artist and as a label head. Stay tuned!

If you are feeling uprooted from your former lives, it is possible feel into your spiritual roots to help ground and link yourself back into the larger web of Life that connects and sustains us all. Every possible resource we might require waits for us there! 

I find it incredibly appropriate that Humano brought forth such a tribal sound for the 13th entry to LUNAR EXPRESSIONS, as today is also Earth Day - a celebration of the circle of life bestowed upon our planet. May you travel well with these hypnotic, earthy, minimal vibes. Thank you for listening 🙏🏾

Artist Bio:
@Humano1111 was born at 11:11, deep in the forest where the energies of fallen tribes still remains intact till this very day. His indigenous nature flows into a fusion of percussion with a deep melodic groovy rhythm. The soil, roots, trees, leaves, sky and sun form an unbreakable connection with the people of earth, to create an elevated state of emotional conscience that in nature, is human.

In 2018, he opened Wildpitch in Atlanta for Miami's hometown hero, Adisyn (Kindisch Records/Akbal Music/Get Physical). Recently, in April 2019, he even played a b2b with Willmer Pereira from NYC. Showing no signs of stopping in 2019, you can expect the unexpected from his deep tribal groovy sound aesthetic while always pushing the envelope by blurring the lines of genres, remaining true to his essence. Currently he is working on music production and his vinyl only sets. You can catch him on warm up duties along side SIS (Crosstown Rebels / Mobilee) in Charlotte very soon.
