Daniel Bortz is no friend of excess. Anyone familiar with his previous work is aware of the clear contours that permeate and define his tracks. Overkill, in any case, is not in his repertoire. What Daniel Bortz does instead is pack compatible sounds together from all the drawers in the ‘beat’ cabinet and arrange them into a system bearing his own inimitable signature. And that’s how this album works.

Its doors are open, and they in turn open up a stylistic spectrum that effortlessly expands the borders drawn by his previous discography. But it simultaneously comes together as a single unit far more substantial than the mere sum of its parts. Here the individual elements transform to serve a mood, a feeling. That in itself is already exciting. Bortz is unmatched in how he crafts his sounds, how he modulates reverb depths, how he opens spaces and inserts details between the tracks with the precision of a Swiss watchmaker. His nonchalance in turning apparently cool vibes into a fiery inferno is the definition of informed understatement.

‘Patchwork Memories’ becomes tangible as an experience through the depth of these moods, through the immediacy he applies in portraying his memories. These are memories Daniel has scribbled down in sketches and arrangements over time. For the album he returned to them, carefully picking those to resuscitate. He’s somehow managed to accomplish this audio self-revelation without stumbling into self-immolation and, most importantly, without losing sight of the laws of the dance floor. Those suspicious that LP productions are for the head(phones) and not for the feet will be astonished at how ‘Patchwork Memories’ brings both to life.

It all starts with ‘Alone at Home’, featuring an ocean-depths down tempo vibe that rivals the track’s title in telling the song’s story. The deep minor piano appears right away as Daniel Bortz’s unmistakable trademark. Other gems include ‘Spend the Night’, bearing an instantly irresistible vocal loop as an endless hook joined by Daniel’s bassy voice, which appears intermittently throughout the album. ‘First Love’ features singer Eva Gold and a Goldfrapp-meets-Moloko-under-a-mirror- ball, kick-drum driven disco vibe that makes the track the album’s pop highlight. The memories continue, journeying through the laid-back stomper “Satisfaction” and its buckets of club coolness, ‘The Misery Feat. Nils Corßen’ looking back on a love thought won but ultimately lost, and ‘Pictures’, a teardrop cradled in discreetly rolling drums and delicate harp strings. The album closes, as all things should, with ‘Friends’, a thank you to all the anonymous people who indirectly contributed to its creation; to those who trigger memories, those who surround us and those who stay with us.

German brother and sister duo Hundreds released their second album 'Aftermath' back in May via Berlin imprint Sinnbus and the melancholia-drenched long player had listeners transfixed around the world.

On Eva and Philip Milner's sophomore album, delicate melodies are intertwined with heartfelt vocals and hauntingly delicate productions and the album will soon receive its first remix EP.

There's an edit from German electronic outfit The/Das and also from the Pampa and Kompakt stalwart Robag Wruhme and the latter has cast his spell over the album's title track.

Amsterdam Dance Event has become Europe's leading electronic platform and club festival for many years. Similar to "Miami Music Conference" the event is held over 1 week and consists various industry music conferences and hosts the best clubbing events you will find in Europe.
Most of the top leading DJs, acts and music industry leading labels / press will be found in Amsterdam in October.

Coinciding with this year event it was fitting to release a showcase album of our new acts and signing to Pro-B-Tech. We carefully selected the artists to be involved to give you a cross section of styles and production qualities to engage the ear drums of most listeners.

Throughout the album you will hear a true blend of progressive, tech house and techno influenced tracks. There's a unique balance from the smooth to the slick and the more minimal dirty works outs. The mixes and artists have come from far and wide including the UK , Ireland , South America , Mexico and New Zealand to provide an international showcase.

Many of the artists featured will be considered new comers but rather the future breed of electronic artists and producers on Pro-B-Tech. Some are more familiar such as "Tini Tun" from Mexico who has been active figure on the scene for many years. Both "Feed On Digital" (UK) and "In Progress" (Ireland) have been emerging artists over the past few years.

London based "Richard Empire" kicks off the album we a smooth infectious track with vocal snippets whilst we have a darker techno affair from "Pad One". "Louie Le Fink" (Argentina) has provided a real chunk of tech house fatness , "Sam Ritter" (Tel Aviv) hits us with a more experiment techy groove track , "Nila's" . Arp Nova takes on a deeper journey and we also have the more house driven sounds of "Matt Black"(Manchester ) plus a very unique vocal track from GabiM.

We have also included two new exclusive bonus remixes of the club classic "And Then The Rain Falls" by Blue Amazon. Decoded Mags "Real Gone Kid" has provided elegant and truly progressive re work of the classic. The 2nd mix comes from "Argentina's "Hernan Serrao" who also an active figure across south America. Herman's mix in a more driving proggy affair whilst retaining the theme of the original.

On a whole a gross breed of tracks and artists to enter your club sets and radio for coming months.

It's been tipped as the breakthrough track of Dutch newcomer duo Cubicolor. 'Falling' will be released as a single from the upcoming debut album due on Anjunadeep. The single is supported with a hefty remix to up the buzz, by none other than KOMPAKT contributor Robag Wruhme. “Falling” also features London based Tim Digby-Bell, one of the founding members of the experimental-indie band Duologue.

Falling EP will be released on the 25th of January on Fayer.

Satin Jackets return to Eskimo Recordings with ‘We Can Talk’, featuring the majestic vocals of UK-based singer Emma Brammer and remixes by Moullinex and Larse. ‘We Can Talk’ is the first single from the upcoming Satin Jackets debut album.  

Original darlings of Belgium’s long standing Eskimo imprint, Satin Jackets announce their debut album with another unashamedly vocal pop anthem featuring Emma Brammer. “‘We Can Talk’ sets the pace for the upcoming album,” the duo explained, “the album itself will be diverse and versatile. Two years of our heart and soul poured into it so it’s going to be the full listening experience.”

 ‘We Can Talk’ is an enveloping record delivering classy piano melodies, crisp beats and a soaring vocal from Scottish Emma Brammer. Recently featured on BBC Radio, London based Brammer elevates the mood for the new year as she explains, “I was hooked on the track [from] the first time. The lyrics are about the exciting and painful first love - maybe it's not so good for you but it feels historical. Loved working with Tim - just good vibes and good tunes.”

This indelible record from Satin Jackets comes with a genre-crushing remix from Portuguese native and Munich-based Moullinex, one of the founders of Discotexas, familiar for stellar remixes of RAC and Röyksopp & Robyn. The package is completed by a stripped back dub version by German producer Larse, renowned for work on Defected and Noir.

Satin Jackets is the brainchild of German music producer Tim Bernhardt alongside lead performer Den Ishu. Their debut album is due for release this April on the Eskimo imprint, having spent the last year between the studio recording it and taking their eponymous live show through the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe, opening their fluid pop appeal and accessible four-to-the-floor groove up to the world at large.
