After three sun-soaked editions, Amsterdam Open Air will again return this year at Gaasperpark. In the first week of June you can enjoy the diverse musical, culinary and cultural programming. Of course there’s also the possibility to stay the night over (or dance the night through) at the camp site. This year Open Air will take place during Pinksteren-weekend, so that means there’s no need to take it slow on Sunday evening.

In this instance, let us not over-analyse – what were dealing with is a multi-faceted humdinger of a house tune whose very raison detre is to induce a state of happiness. Steve deftly manipulates layer upon layer of elements into a euphoric and cohesive whole. Riffs tease then erupt, bass burbles and bounces, percussion cracks then takes a pause, ushering in a breakdown for the ages. Be Happy is by turns simple yet complex, busy then stripped back, heads down chugger meets hands in the air anthem.
