“Things that happen all over the world cause a heavy impact on people’s lives, and Russia is no exception. The human rights situation in Russia is becoming more acute each year. We believe that the violation of human rights is unacceptable. With Hand to Hand VA we want to draw public attention to this problem and provide assistance to organizations involved in helping people faced with arbitrariness. We have brought together like-minded musicians who share the ideas of cooperation, freedom and unity.
All proceeds from the VA will be split equally between the Russian human rights organizations: Mediazona (an independent media platform focused on the judiciary, law enforcement and penal system in Russia founded by Pussy Riot members Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova) and OVD-Info (an independent human rights media project aimed at combating political persecution)".


The Hand to Hand VA geography is: Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Russia, Romania, France, Ukraine, Israel, Lithuania, Greece, the Netherlands and the USA.

The VA participants are: Juan MacLean, Benedikt Frey, Borusiade, The Golden Filter, Antoni Maiovvi, Timothy Clerkin, Roe Deers, Sophie Du Palais, Local Suicide, Wolfstream, Panorama Channel, A-Tweed, BGDN, Guillaume Léglise, Inatist, FLVN, Jack Carel, Niko Noland, Tokma, St. Theodore, Anton Berezin, Kolomensky, Anatolian Weapons. 

The project is curated by St. Petersburg based musicians Andrey Kinly, Anton Berezin and Grigory Babak.

Legowelt has been putting other house and techno producers to shame since the the 1990s.

The Dutch artist releases music at a rate of knots – there’s been at least nine albums under the Legowelt name alone now, and he has over 30 different aliases, all of which interact in weird, wonderful ways. His music has appeared on labels as disparate as Unknown to the Unknown and Cocoon, and he’s got a reputation as a real studio wizard – not only due to the hardware in the studio, but the sample packs and plugins that he gives out for free online. On top of that, he’s about as unpretentious as it’s possible to get.

Here 'Institute Of The Overmind', which was made live in a session filmed for FACT TV, gets the vinyl treatment backed with a monster 90s trance re-work from Photonz, of which we exclusively premiere here today.

The sound delivered by Photonz on his DJ sets and productions blends the bold, romantic side of rave's original spirit with a new sound carved borrowing from experimental music and psychedelia. The result is a unique signature that has gained support from key figures of the electronic music scene like Legowelt, Ben UFO, DJ TLR, Jackmaster and Ivan Smaghe.

Since his debut in 2006 with "Ronin", Photonz has released on labels such as Dissident, Dirty, R-Zone, and Unknown To The Unknown. The latter put out some his best work, with the EP "Hurt Me Hurt Me" getting a 10/10 review in DJ Mag and the track "1551" being played in Jackmaster's first ever BBC Essential Mix appearance.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2010 with huge support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, John Digweed and Dave Clarke, Ireland’s Ian O'Donovan has gone on to achieve great feats as an artist. Ian has forged a unique style within the techno scene, blending a touch of the past with his melodic sound and moulding it into place with top level production. His tracks have found homes on iconic imprints such as Kevin Saunderson's KMS in Detroit, John Digweed's burgeoning Bedrock Records, Christian Smith's Tronic and Sasha's Last Night on Earth label.
Ian has reworked classics like Inner City's 'Good Life' and collaborated with legends like John Digweed along with a string of top solo releases, which have won favour with industry titans like Richie Hawtin and Carl Cox. After standout early releases on Detone and KMS, 2015 sees Ian O'Donovan's stock once more on the rise, fuelled further by the signing of inimitable techno cut 'Vortex' to Adam Beyer's global phenomenon Drumcode Records; an indication that this timeless producer is only now entering his stride. With an arsenal of dance-floor weapons developed over a decade by his side, Ian is committed to bringing his dj sets to the world, taking music lovers on an intricate journey both into the artist’s mind and to a place of musical inspiration. "Aurore 404 is back with the 2nd Volume of Cut A Rug, a series dedicated to dance numbers and relentless groovers. All 6 pieces are composed by french artists, their genre oscillating between house, deep house and italo disco. Noise Ark and Chouba are kicking off the release with great house tunes both based on steady groovy basslines. Then, Doublure, with his mesmerizing synth and out of space arpeggiator, smoothly bridges the first and the latter part of the EP.

NairLess takes over to do what he does best: some funky drums and a catchy melody dancing around a solid Morodesque bassline sequence. Then comes S.R who cooked an epic italo burner with a strong old school vibe built around playful synths answering each other - we cannot wait to blast this one on dancefloors, once they reopen.

To end this chapter, Vanderkraft dusts off the Delorean with his spacey ‘Antépénultième’, filled with transporting melodies, bouncing drums and some 303 funkiness to top it all off."
