A/T/O/S - A Taste of Struggle

“Be Together” is the first single off of 2econd Class Citizen’s album “unlearn”. It is available digitally as well as a limited vinyl postcard in collaboration with Postmanslove. 

A few more notes about the upcoming album: 
Unlearn is the long awaited fourth album of DJ and producer 2econd Class Citizen. It marks the artist’s return back to the newly relaunched label Equinox Records. Their previous collaborations achieved high acclaim for their genre bending fusion of hip hop, electronica and folk to form a cinematic journey which is full of twists and turns.

Unlearn is an exploration of an artist journeying beyond their conventional confines. It is a musical adventure peppered with vintage samples concerning the perception of reality and our struggles with conforming to a broken society.

'Mellow Horizon' is the lead track taken from 'Somewhere Nowhere'. An instrumental EP by Composer Zeb Samuels.

The EP is a journey of sounds, connecting frequencies that hold a soft and detailed energy. All created & produced by Zeb, with contributions from some very talented musicians.

David Gyamfi (Mr Domini) features on this beautiful track, who we hear on Rhodes Piano.

David is a Church educated / self taught Pianist & guitarist. His compositions here add a beautiful energy of hope and light that are captured in the recording.

Marc Cyril also contributes on Bass for this track and Zeb is performing on Piano.
No physical beat is present, but the heart of the track beats strong with a memorising rhythm that is recorded with an abundance of warmth and low end. 

All Mastered by Robert Thomas at Ten Eight Seven Mastering.

The full EP 'Somewhere Nowhere' will be released on Deep Heads on July 5th 2019.

Zeb Samuels 'Mellow Horizon'

"Subject of a far-reaching and well received remix contest on Soundcloud, this track from deep future garage producer Ghostek has so many different levels to it we fully expected to meet a big boss at the end.

The single itself comes in two parts, slyly different imaginings of the same theme. Part 1 builds the pace steadily with plenty of interest as the kick thumps along under the myriad textures and atmospheres. Part 2 becomes more crisp and more weird, with the introduction of a crunching snare plus some freaky distorted speech. Sangam drops in with an ambient remix followed by increasingly percussive variations by Myztical, SMAUG, Stranger, and Kalli."

Finding its home somewhere between romantic elements, bitter points of distrust and hope for the future, the LP envelopes all with its wavering electronic beats and irresistible vocals. ‘don’t call me from Los Angeles’ is a harsh look at communications with a missing love, driven by deep bass lines and irrefutable lyrics. ERA C proves to be a captivating mix of unusual tempos to both express and lull away hardships.

Speaking of the LP, Sofia Insua tells us: “DELIRIA is about distance and its sneaky way of censoring the heart, preventing it from feeling. I wrote the tracks during various transitional periods in my life, so I was going through change - adapting, looking for the next steps, and finding ways for love to survive. Some of the most defining lyrics on the record popped up in my head while walking busy streets, while traveling, while in motion. I was discovering myself geographically and through the songs that ended up being DELIRIA.”
