This episode I host Buzz Compass. Buzz Compass is DJ and producer Andrey Bychenkov, perhaps one of Russia’s most creative edits maker. After a series of successful digital releases, Buzz Compass released three 12” vinyls on European No More Hits, and 12” re-edits for the West Fulton Sessions on American Glenview Recordings. Buzz Compass’ edits and re-mixes have been gaining support from the likes of Andy Ash, Jacques Renault, Terrence Parker, Derrick Carter, Nicholas, LTJ Xperience, Marcos Cabral, OOFT!, Alexander Robotnick, Giom, Sleazy Beats, Mannmademusic, Moodymanc, Piranahead, Rayko, Ben Sims, JKriv, LeSale, Ursula 1000, Nik Weston, Sleazy McQueen, Suonho and more.  He has releases out on Freedom Sessions Records, Midnight Riot Records, Editor's Kutz, More Drama Recordings, including a forthcoming release on Editorial Records.  Andrey, along with Valentin Vitchinov , is also a curator of the Deep Perfection podcast.  Being a connoisseur and expert of rarities Andrey, of course, prefers needles and vinyl in his sets.

The LoveBath XCI featuring Ghosts of Venice [Musicis4Lovers.com]

In April 2020, David Marston & Life on Planets released “Contortions” featuring Hannah Noelle and Dan Izco. Now, for “Contortions Pt. 2", Marston has again joined forces with Noelle and Life on Planets, while also enlisting preeminent Panamian Rapper, Pash, to give the original song a fresh reggaeton-influenced makeover. In this remix version, Marston taps into his Caribbean roots to create an infectious old school dancehall-inspired beat. Hannah Noelle’s spellbinding vocals shine through the mix, while Life on Planets’ vocal contribution adds a smooth and debonair character to the track. Notably, Pash, the gifted and dexterous rapper hailing from Panama, graces the track with his impressive verbal agility and silky flow. All in all, this re-imagined version of “Contortions” is a dazzling collaborative song with infectious rhythms, lush instrumentation, beguiling vocals, and a euphoric spirit.

In October last year Pete Josef's second album «I Rise With The Birds» came out. Now Sonar Kollektiv has decided to release four remixes of three different songs off the fantastic album. First of all there is the Jazzanova remix of «Giants», which almost completely gets rid of the vocals, but all the more absorbs the zeitgeist - a remix probably working perfectly for a group of battling breakdancers. The program continues with a remix by Pete Josef himself. The Englishman strips down «This Sun» to its basic structure, then simply building a modern Salsa track out of it. Which brings us to the remix by Friend Within. The Liverpool producer and Pete Josef have been friends for many years, dating back to a 2013 collaboration («The Work») that made it onto Disclosure's Mixmag mix CD. «Mainframe» sounds super fresh after Friend Within's rework and seems like the party banger we've been looking forward to for months! But what Feiertag finally takes the liberty of doing with his remix of «Giants» is beyond imagination. Far away from the original Feiertag's interpretation moves in dark downtempo realms - dubby and spheric at the same time. In short: Each of the four remixes is a small masterpiece on its own.
